Happy 7 Week Birthday Tre!!

This morning was a very fun experience! Tre was so alert and happy. We would talk to him and he would smile and coo. It was adorable. He was so entertaining and fun to play with. Not his usual moody morning self. HEHE. We sat with him and talked to him and then gave him some fun time in his bouncy chair where he was reacting to the little characters that were moving and all the action that is going on.

Then of course I had to take his weekly picture on the boppy to see how he has grown. Figured it'd be best to take the picture while he was in the best of moods. He was listening to the TV and reacting to sounds and finally I got him to face me and take a picture.

After Jammer got home from surfing he decided to take a little cat nap with Tre before his next feeding. I thought they were so cute that I had to take a picture (see how little Tre is smiling) and then I got a little close up of Tre as he was opening his eyes a few times fighting going to sleep. My cute boys!!!

I also took a couple videos of him while on his bouncer, they are so cute....the first one is funny because Noa is trying to get Tre to scratch his chest with his toes so he goes up to Tre and licks his toes and puts his chest right where Tre's feet are and then Tre ends up kicking him and Noa runs away. Noa thinks that Tre is old enough to understand like we do what he wants us to do when he puts his chest up to our feet.

This video is so cute, he really loves the frog on the bouncy and kind of coos at it.

Happy 6 Week Birthday Tre!

Yep, you've read it correctly, Tre is 6 weeks old today. Can't believe it! Each week is harder to believe. We had a big day today, I had my 6 week check up with my doctor to make sure that I have healed from the delivery and that I was feeling and looking good. I am happy to report that after 6 weeks I am down to 110 pounds!! I was so excited and curious of my weight when I stepped on the scale as the nurse was bringing it lower and lower down I was more and more happy. Now it's just a matter of toning and I will weigh less than I did before the pregnancy (by about 3 pounds, but still less).

After the doctor's appointment, Jammer, Tre and I went to visit our good friend Lawrence at his jewelry showroom. He has been anxious to meet Tre and we had been trying to figure out a good day to visit with him, he is a very busy man. Sadly, our doctor's appointment delay and trying to find parking in downtown La Jolla we missed he wife as she had somewhere to be so she wasn't able to stay and wait for us. But we hope to visit with her soon and she'll get to meet Tre as well. After the long afternoon Tre was a bit fussy and didn't seem to like all the traveling around. We got back to the house and all he wanted to do was be held and NOT be put down for a nap, even though his sleepy eyes were saying otherwise. Hehe.

Finally, we got him down for a nap and Jammer went surfing while Tre woke up a couple times wanting to eat MORE! We are assuming he's eating more because of the possible growth spurt he is meant to have at around 6 weeks. Hopefully it'll subside soon and I can get a solid 3 hour break. After a couple feeds he went down for a longer nap and I got some work done on the computer.

Now it is evening, my favorite part of the day because Tre is so manageable. He seems to like the evening as much as I do because he is very agreeable and eats well without a fuss or fight and goes down to sleep when we put him down after a meal. I wish most of the day was this time of the night. Which is probably why I am so tired the rest of the day because I love this time of the day so much that I don't want to sleep to miss it and wake up for the hardest part of the day, which is early morning.

We didn't get any major pictures of today but we did get his 6 week (sitting on the boppy pic) for record of a week's growth as you can see at the beginning of this post.

I thought it would be interesting to compare a pic I took of Tre when he was almost a week old in his car seat to today in his car seat:

1 Week Old compared to a Sleepy 6 Week Old

Look how he has grown, his head looks rounder to me, his cheeks are chubbier, his arms are chubbier and his hair is definitely lighter, he fills in his newborn clothes much better . And my favorite part is his eyes are lighter, even though you can't see his eyes in the 6 week old pic, trust me, they are so blue. As expected we are hoping they stay this way!

Beach Day with Auntie Ashley

Today we went to the beach for a couple hours, Tre's Auntie Ashley came down to visit yesterday for a couple days and we decided to head to the beach for a little relaxing time and so Jammer could surf. It was nice weather, not too hot and not too windy. Probably helped that Tre and I are under our little dinky umbrella to hide from any hot sun rays.

We are still in the process of finding a beach umbrella which we are having trouble finding. We've gone around town looking at different places to find this beach umbrella that no one seems to have. So we had to settle for a little umbrella that attaches to the beach chair for the time being to keep Tre from the sun when we are at the beach. We also brought down a little one man tent just in case we wanted to try and lay Tre down or if we needed to change him or anything, however the cuddle time I get with him while he is in the wrap is pretty awesome. We didn't end up using it for what we thought, but it was helpful to put our stuff inside the tent so it wouldn't get sandy and its really easy and travel friendly.

It was a nice couple hours, very relaxing and Tre slept for the most part except for a little feeding while we were there. Then we headed home for a little bbq dinner, yummy! It was a nice day and good to get out of the house. Just getting to visit the beach for a couple hours every few days has been a great relief from being in the house all day, all night.

Tre is growing and its amazing how every day something changes with him.

Happy 5 Week Birthday Tre!

Today is Tre's 5th week birthday! Since it was also our 3 year wedding anniversary the day consisted of hanging out at the house, Donelle ran a couple errands while Jammer stayed at home with Tre and fed him for the second time. :)

Pretty mellow day. We had planned on going to the beach for a few hours today but the weather was overcast and we decided not to, so Jammer just went and jumped in the water for a quick surf and came back.

I'm going to try and take a picture of Tre each week to show his growth with him sitting in his boppy to use that as a size comparison to be able to visualize the growth compared to something else.

I didn't post the picture from last week in his 4 week birthday so here is that pic:

Here is Tre's 5 Week picture:

And finally, a bath time family photo and a pic of him in his tub for the first time:

3 Year Wedding Anniversary

Today was our 3 year wedding anniversary. Can you believe it has been 3 years? Time flies! Here we are having our 3rd wedding anniversary and celebrating our little boy's 5th Week Birthday. What a big day!

And to top it off, we ventured out of our home for dinner tonight. I was very nervous and didn't want Tre to wake up in the middle of dinner crying for food. We did however bring a bottle for him to have in case he did wake up, but we made it in and out of the restaurant before it was time for his next feeding. YAY!

We chose a place that was a bit on the noisy side, but not too loud, just in case Tre did wake up it wouldn't be totally annoying to have a little baby crying. Luckily our little boy was a very good boy and we didn't have to worry about it.

We asked someone at the restaurant to take a picture of us before we left. We didn't have Tre in the picture because I didn't want the flash to startle him and wake him up, but I did try to take a picture of him sleeping in his car seat without the flash. Obviously, it's a little dark but you can kind of see him.

Sleeping and Feeding

Two things that are very important to our little boy and happen continuously throughout the days. Spending some special bonding time with my little boy, him and I took a little nap. He was getting a little fussy and I think wanted to have some cuddle time, so I laid him on my chest and we fell asleep together for a short while. It's such a heartwarming feeling to have him fall sound asleep while laying with us. Oh how I love this little boy!!!

Then this evening we decided to give Tre a bottle for the first time. I pumped some milk so that Jammer could feed his little boy for the first time. Tre has been eating less than normal at each feeding but more frequently so I talked to the lactation consultant at Tre's pediatrician office and she told me that maybe we should try a bottle of breast milk and see how he eats that way and also pumping a bit before feeding to get him to the more nutritious milk and both those things seem to work very well and when I pump he eats for much longer and when we fed him his 1st bottle he drank the entire bottle. So I'm thinking the issue is because of how frequent he was wanting to eat due to not getting enough at each feed it was harder for him to get milk quickly and I wasn't producing like I should. Hopefully this will resolve that issue. Also, she said that it is important to get him on a bottle within 3 to 6 weeks of life to get him used to using it, otherwise it'll be harder for him to learn to drink from the bottle later on.

Jammer enjoyed spending time with Tre and feeding him, he was nervous because he hadn't done it before and we weren't sure how Tre would react to the bottle, but it all went well and we'll probably try and do a bottle more often so that they can have some time together during the nurturing timeframe of feeding.

Tre's 1st Trip to the Beach

Yesterday was Tre's 1st visit to the beach. Jammer's parents came down to visit us yesterday afternoon and we all decided to head to the beach. I was a little nervous because Tre has been on such a random beach schedule so we waited until later in the day and Jammer only jumped in the ocean for a surf for about 30 minutes or so just to get out there but to not be out there for too long in case we needed to leave.

We stayed at the beach for about an hour and a half. I got to read the last couple chapters of my book that I was reading and enjoyed a little sun. Tre stayed in my Moby wrap the whole time and slept.

After we left the beach we were able to stop by the new house that Jammer's parents are in the process of buying. It is right down the street from Grandview beach. It's a really cute 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath beach house. We are so excited!

Then Tre decided it was time to eat and we went home to feed him. Jammer's parents went to the store and picked up some food and we all enjoyed an awesome dinner together.

Here are some pictures from our day at the beach....ENJOY!

Video of Tre's Room

Here is some video footage of Tre's room. I tried to get an around the room view of it so you can get an idea of what it looks like.

One thing I wish was up and I mention it in the video is I bought Tre a little bamboo surfboard in Hawaii for decoration in his room but we need to get a picture hanging device to hang it up on the wall, so that is the only thing that hasn't been finished in his room.

Enjoy a view of our little boy's nursery...

Happy 4 Week Birthday Tre!!!

Today Tre is 4 weeks old. He is changing everyday...I probably say that all the time but it is so crazy how quickly they can change. He has been sleeping less during the day which has been different because we had gotten used to him taking his regular naps during the day and getting stuff done, now he is requiring more attention, which is cool but time consuming. ;)

He's definitely growing and some of his newborn clothes are fitting him perfectly and probably not for much longer.

On Saturday, our neighbors had their son's 1st Birthday party at the pool here at our complex so while Jammer was surfing I wrapped Tre up in my Moby wrap and took him down there. It was the first time I tried to put him in the Moby because I was having trouble figuring out how to get that thing on me and him inside (its like origami with fabric), but luckily I figured it out and was able to take him with me to the pool but keep him close to me and covered from the sun. It was a nice day and I was glad to get out of the house which doesn't happen all that often.

And last but not least a really cute video of Jammer holding Tre and Tre saying Hi to the camera...

Belly Movement

I meant to post this video just before we had Tre, but obviously things got a little crazy when it was time to deliver him and now that the weeks are flying by I forgot to post this. It was such a trip to see, I video'd my belly moving a few days before I delivered Tre. I thought it was pretty crazy looking and figured I would share some video with you.
