New Years Eve 2008

The last day of 2008!!! Since our day was documented in Tre's 25th week birthday post this one is dedicated to the evening part. We finished up hanging out at our friend Andy's house (which is actually the surfer Rob Machado's house). It is an amazing house, felt like we were hanging out at a home in Hawaii the way it was set up.

Then after a game of Last Word and packing up our stuff and our little bundle who ended up waking up as we got him into the car. We drove from Andy's house back to our house to get changed and ready to head over to our neighbor's Tyler & Monet's house. We had planned to get together at their house for New Year's Eve. Tre was making it a little bit difficult for me to relax since he was waking up a bunch while I was down at their house, so I did a little running up and down the stairs a few times. He had a hard time falling asleep when we got him home from Andy's house so I had a feeling I was going to be making a few runs up the stairs to pop his pacifier back in his mouth. The last time I ran up there it was 11:50pm, I was in a hurry to get back downstairs so I could join them in the countdown. Thankfully I popped the pacifier in and grabbed my Sparkling Grape Juice to toast the new year (I'm not drinking alcohol since I am nursing still). I ended up bringing Noa down with me since he was barking due to the multiple times I was in and out of the house (his bark seemed to get louder with each time I went up there, little booger). So Monet said it was okay if I brought him down in his bag. Lucky for Noa...so he was able to ring in the new year with us.

Tyler is a DJ so we got to enjoy some "live" music by him while we hung out so that was entertaining and they decked out their house with a disco ball and some fun lighting. Made for a very entertaining New Year's Eve. Thanks Tyler & Monet, we had fun!

When's game night?

Happy 25 Week Birthday Tre

New Years Eve is here and it is also Tre's 25th week of life! Today was a very busy day...Jammer had the day off so that was a plus! Then we got an email and phone calls from friends letting us know of last minute plans that they had put together. Our friends The Perry's decided to come down from Santa Barbara to stay at our friend Andy's house. The Perry's had a boy (Connor) about 6 weeks before Tre was born. We have been wanting these two to meet for quite some time (well since Tre was born, but haven't been able to make our way up to Santa Barbara) and we were so excited that they were coming we anxiously awaited their arrival in SD. Then of course our day kind of has to revolve around what Tre's got going on. So after his midday nap I got us packed up and went over to Andy's house.

Connor and Tre met and took a picture with their Dad's, but Connor was very tired and needed to take a nap so off to nap Connor went while Tre hung out. Then Connor woke up from his nap and not much interaction occured because it was meal time for both boys. Tre was getting really fussy at this point since he missed his afternoon nap so I fed him his rice cereal and decided to lay him down for a nap in one of the bedrooms since he was pretty much done with his day. It wasn't too difficult to get him to nap, he was so tired that even the little bit of noise coming from the living room didn't bother him. Connor stays up a bit later than Tre normally so he stayed up for a while longer. Then both boys were down and we were getting our stuff packed up to head home. We had a New Year's Eve party to attend at our neighbor's house.

We got our stuff packed and in the car, then back home we went to get changed and get my appetizer completed and then get downstairs to our neighbors house.

Here are some more pics from the day...

Laughing is Contagious

So Tre was in a funny little mood tonight! I was feeding him his nightly rice cereal and he was getting pretty tired and started to fuss a bit. He had just finished eating and I was putting things away and he was still kind of fussing, not extremely bad, just could tell he was ready for bed. So I came back to his high chair and sat down in front of him and calmed him down, then out of nowhere I sneezed and he started laughing so hard and so loud. I was dying at how funny it was that he would laugh at me for sneezing, plus I think it startled him and he got a kick out of it, which is way better than when he gets startled and starts crying. Hehe.

So I attempted to fake sneeze a few more times and he kept laughing...I decided this was too cute to not get on video and show Jammer when he got home from work (figured it would aleviate a long day at work, since he was working late today). So I grabbed the camera and set it up on him and began to film...so funny! I am a big dork in the video but he is so cute that I had to share it!!!

Hope you get as much of a kick out of it as I did:

Also...my friend Nicole was in town from Oregon and stopped by today (as well as Tiff and Nicole's boyfriend Devin), so we took a few pictures and I was taking some pics prior to them getting here in Tre's adorable sweater that his Uncle Justin got him...(Tre is teething so his cheeks are pretty rosy)...

Lastly...yesterday I had taken Tre for a walk and on my way back to the house I saw my friend's and neighbor's Tyler and Will talking so I went over to them to ask them a quick question and Tyler had their new camera with him so he took a few pics of Tre and I and they had emailed it over to me today so I thought I would post it, Tre looks so cute in his little beanie cap and his eyes are just so beautiful! Thanks Monet for sending that over!

Day after Christmas 2008

Once Tre woke up from his morning nap I got him ready and came over to the beach house to hang out with Jammer, his brother John, his sister Malia and his mom. We decided to go get some lunch but first we hung out at the house a little. Got a few pictures of Tre and even a picture Noa waiting patiently in his bag to leave and Rosie, Jammer's Mom's dog that we had gotten her for Mother's Day a few years ago. It was a beautiful day...

Tre and his Daddy...

And...we all went to this mexican place down the street from the house and thought we'd get a picture of all of us somehow for the blog post, hehe! It's Jammer, Me, Tre, Jammer's Mom Kathy, Jammer's sister Malia and Jammer's brother John.

Christmas 2008

Tre's 1st Christmas!! What an experience...not quite as exciting as it will be when he gets older and gets what is going on, but fun all the same. Tre woke up earlier than I had hoped he would. I left the monitor charger at home so I ended up sleeping in the same room as Tre while Jammer slept in the room that we normally sleep in when we stay at my parent's house. So I fed him once he woke up and took him over to his Daddy while I jumped into the shower and hurried to get ready to head over to my sister's house. Once we were all ready and packed up the car we went over to my sister's house and got started on passing out the gifts. Tre was handed his first gift and was intrigued with it but didn't really know what to do with it.

It wasn't until he was handed a much bigger gift which ended up being some building blocks that he was fascinated with the wrapping paper. He would try and eat it, then rub his face in it and finally pull on it. It was pretty funny to watch him figure it out. He liked to hold it and play with it like it was a toy. Nice to know some interesting wrapping paper could keep him occupied for a bit.

Then it was time for Tre to go down for his nap, it was way past his naptime and he was starting to get irritated. So I put him down in my sister's bedroom in a pack 'n' play for a nap, he slept a little less than an hour which surprised me since he was so tired, but I got him up a few minutes later, fed him and brought him back out to the action. He was excited to see everyone and had this funny look on his face like, what is everyone still doing sitting in the same place. As the gifts were being completed Tre was being entertained by my nieces and nephew. He was sitting on top of Jammer's new coffee maker/grinder and laughing at everyone who would talk to him.

Of course while we are opening gifts and stuff we are enjoying YUMMY YUMMY tamales, our Christmas morning tradition. So after finishing gifts and finishing food we had to start packing up the car with our new gifts and Tre's things. While we were packing up the car and stuff my Mom was sitting with Tre in the rocking chair...he was so cute just relaxing next to my Mom and watching everything that was going on.

Once we were all packed up, it was time to get on the road and head back down to Carlsbad, Tre took a nap on the way home (thank goodness). We were SO happy to not have to drive up to LA after Christmas morning now that Jammer's parent's have a beach house in Leucadia, just a few minutes from our house. So we drove home and was able to unpack the car (which was a good thing because it was filled to the max). Then get Tre dressed in his Christmas outfit and us in ours and head over to the beach house. When we got to the beach house we unpacked the car with all our stuff (had to bring our pack'n'play and all of Tre's stuff plus since my parent's got Tre a new high chair we were able to bring our current high chair which we had gotten from a friend over to Jammer's parent's house to use when we come over to their house - Perfect!).

Jammer's brother John was anxious for Tre to open his gift so we began by opening Tre's gifts before he took his late nap (which ended up being later than normal, but it was Christmas so we bent the rules a little). Such a cool gift, his very first piano/xylophone! It was really colorful and was shaped like a crocodile (Tre loves green). He was very curious about it! Then Tre got some other great things, adorable clothes and a colors book.

Then it really was time for Tre to go down for a nap, he was very tired. So I took him upstairs and got him situated in his pack'n'play which I had already set up while everyone was playing with Tre downstairs. While Tre was taking his nap we all exchanged and opened our gifts to each other. Craziest thing though, in the middle of our gift opening it started getting really stormy and all of a sudden the power went out, throughout the neighborhood, even the street light near the house was out! Luckily the fire was going in the living room otherwise it would've been pitch black. Of course, I get nervous thinking Tre is upstairs, so I go to stand near the door to make sure he is okay. Didn't affect him at all...! So I went back downstairs and after we all sort of calmed down and got some candles burning...and prayed that the power would go back on soon so dinner wouldn't be ruined!! We got back to finishing opening presents...then as we were finishing up I was startled by Tre screaming! It scared me because it was so loud! Maybe he was up there doing his little cry and I couldn't hear him so he decided to scream loudly to get my attention...it worked! Thankfully the lights came back on as I was finishing changing his diaper...so I brought Tre down and we all got ready to sit down for dinner and Tre got ready to eat some rice cereal. It was a YUMMY dinner! And Tre enjoyed his as well..hehe! Then we hung out for a bit and then it was time to go. I had forgotten Tre's jammies at home and by that time I was exhausted from such a long day and knowing that there was no sleeping in for me to recoop, I was ready for bed.

But it was a fun filled Christmas and I can't wait till next year when Tre will be a year and a half and much more into what is going on!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!

Oh yeah...I wanted to share..I had made Jammer a gift from Tre...it was this really cute poem and I used one of the professional pictures and had it framed. Here is what it looked like:

The poem goes like this:
Daddy take my hand in yours and you will plainly see
How very much I need you now to love and care for me
As my little hand grows I will need you even more
Everything I do in life I have never done before
Teach me to be kind and loving, sharing and forgiving
Show me through your acts of love the pure joy of living
The years will pass by quickly and one day I will be grown
I will pass what you have taught me to children of my own
Hold me always in your thoughts and remember when we are apart
The special love between a son and his daddy's heart.
Love Always Your Son,

Christmas Eve

Tre's 1st Christmas is here! It has been a very very busy season for me. Trying to get Christmas shopping done and take care of Tre is quite the chore. After Tre's morning nap, we would head out to run errands and go shopping, then usually stop by Jammer's work to visit him and bring him lunch. He was working a ton so it was nice for Tre to see him during the day at least for a quick lunch. Even though it was busy, it was fun too. Tre was able to see all the Christmas decorations everywhere, listen to Christmas music, etc. I think all the car rides to run errands are what got him used to tolerating the car a bit better and just accepting that he was in the car seat until Mommy got him out. And a little gift that his Auntie Jennifer gave him a while back has been a lifesaver in keeping him content when it is nap time for him and we are still out running errands.

So anyways...Christmas eve plans consisted of getting the rest of our packages wrapped or put in bags and pack the bags and get ready for the big holiday events. We had planned to go up to my parent's house for Christmas Eve and spend some time with family, then spend the night at my parent's house and head over to my sister Jennifer's house in the morning. Spending Christmas morning opening presents and then when we finish up there we were heading back down to our house to get Jammer's family gifts and get ourselves ready to head over to their beach house for Christmas dinner with them.

Happy 24 Week Birthday Tre!

December 24th is Tre's 24 week birthday! 24 weeks have passed and so much has happened...just in the past week things have changed. Tre is growing another tooth. This one is up top! I can't believe it...that's 3 teeth sticking out of his gums. Too bad the little boogie won't let me take a picture of them! Every time I to go stick my finger on his lip to lower it to show those little teeth he sticks his tongue over them! One of these days I'll get a decent shot!

We have been playing a lot in his room because he has a big mirror in there that he can look at himself and roll around on his surfboard mat. It's been so cute, he rolls on his side and talks to the mirror. Sometimes he'll look up at me and smile and go back to the mirror. He is so close to rolling over from his back to his front. I'm nervous for that day because that'll mean he could roll over on the changing table (one hand on baby at all times) and roll over in his bed (which will probably freak me out the first few times looking into the monitor and seeing him on his tummy).

I was watching Tre on the monitor after he had just woken up and from the time he woke up until I went in to get him (which was probably about 15 mins or so) he went from sleeping the way I had placed him to being sideways in his crib. It was SO funny to watch on the monitor, I attempted to take some pictures of it on the monitor but they didn't turn out all that great, however they did remind me of pictures of an ultrasound. When sent to family I got a shocking response that it looked like an ultrasound and they thought I was trying to tell them something...no...no new babies yet! Still getting used to the new one we have! Hehe!

I have absolutely LOVED the 5 month period of Tre's life...he has been so much fun, so entertaining and a lot less whiney in the car. Hehe..! He has also become a good rice cereal eater which makes me confident in adding new things soon.

Being that Tre's 24 week birthday is Christmas Eve, we have some pics to add in the Christmas category that also take place on his 24 week birthday so check out the Christmas posts to see more.

Friday Visitors

We had two visitors come to our house to meet Tre for the first time. Jammer's longtime friends from college, Mike and Andy. Mike lives on Kauai and was in town for a couple days. So Mike and Andy stopped by on their way up to Newport Beach. We were happy to have them over, it was great to see them. Tre has had an interesting reaction to strangers lately...he begins to cry and doesn't know how to deal with it, but after the "stranger" is around for a little bit he warms up to them. I think we need to get him out and about more...most days are just him and I...he is great when he is in his stroller and people come up to see him, he stares at them and sometimes smiles, no crying. It's usually when people want to hold him that he gets upset. I'm sure over time he'll get used to it...as long as they don't care if he cries a bit I always try to get them to continue to hold him so he gets used to it. It's when people immediately hand him back to me that he knows, if he cries, he'll be passed back to Mommy.

Here are a few pictures...

Thanks for coming over Mike & Andy...it was nice to see you!
