This little guy is growing so fast! He is now officially sitting up with only a few falls backward and it's only after he has been sitting up for a while and wants to lean back or he looks back to see something and he loses his balance. But we can confidently sit him up and know he will prop himself up and be able to stay pretty stable now! Also, he is going after things so much more now. He'll sit up and reach out for his toys and if he sees something he wants to get he'll lean as far as he can to get it. Sometimes falling forward to get it and getting a little upset that he has fallen forward. And for the first time he has rolled over onto his tummy, gotten a little mad (which isn't new) but then fought his way back over onto his back. I was so proud of him. He's done both roll from tummy to back and back to tummy but they were separate occurences, never before had he done both in one sitting. It's pretty amazing to watch his change in development!
About a week or so ago, I joined a group called the Carlsbad Babies of 2008. It is a group of ladies within the Carlsbad area that had babies born in 2008. They plan events to get together, like going to the park, walking by the beach, baby gyms, etc. I felt it was important that I get out and meet some people that have babies close to the same age as Tre so he could see other babies and interact with them. It gets difficult coming up with things to do every day with Tre to keep him entertained so I thought this group could help a great deal in that department as they come up with ideas of things to do with the babies. On Monday, they had planned an afternoon at the park, this would be my first group event. I was a little reluctant since I always feel nervous going somewhere by myself to meet people, feels like elementary school when you are looking to find friends. The whole, "Will you be my friend?" thing makes me feel funny. But I went because I knew that the worst case scenario would be that Tre and I would have fun at the park and that would be worth it to me. We got there 5 mins early and so I decided to put Tre in the swings. It didn't look like anyone was going to show up so we just played on the swings and just as I was ready to pack it up, all of a sudden it started to seem like a lot of moms & babies were showing up. Of course I'm a nerd and was too nervous to go and ask anyone if they were a part of the group until the swing next to me opened up and one of the moms brought her son over to the swing and asked if I was a part of the group and I told her that it was my first event, etc. We got to talking and voila, I began to meet a bunch of the other moms & their babies. It's such a funny feeling to be 30 years old and feeling like a kid in school trying to meet friends. Bittersweet feeling! Once you get past the "I'm New" part it got to be a bit better. It was pretty chilly at the park so when we all hung out on the few blankets that got spread out people started to leave due to the breeze coming in and just sitting there made it feel more cold. There was talk of a walk by the beach on Thursday, so as long as Tre wasn't napping I was planning on making it to that event, Tre LOVES walks, if I could, he would probably be content with me walking all day long. My poor legs would probably fall off, but he would love it!
Tre has gotten another tooth (total is 4 now)! He has had a rough time sleeping this week, waking up 6 times on Monday night and a few on Tuesday night, plus not making putting him down for a nap easy. It's been a battle from the length of 40 minutes to an hour and a half to get him to calm down to take a nap. I'm not used to that since 95% of the time, I can gently rock him for a few minutes, lay him down and within 10 mins or so he falls asleep. This is quite a change for him to fight it. I'm guessing it has to do with teething and who knows what else. Jammer and I have debated on taking his naps from 3 down to 2. We'll see what happens as the next week progresses.
Oh and lastly, when taking his weekly picture Noa decided to get involved again and this time it was too cute, Noa was putting his paw in Tre's hand and I snapped a shot of them kind of holding hands, I guess you could call it. And then Noa got comfortable and laid down and still had his paw in Tre's hand. Those two are so cute together, I love that all the animals get along with Tre.
Okay, really this is the last thing on this post, last Thursday after I had gotten home from visiting friends at San Diego Volvo, I ran into Monet and Terje and Monet had mentioned that they were going to be playing in the back behind their house so I got Tre all situated from the car (he had fallen asleep in the car) and tried to get him to stay asleep walking up the stairs, but of course as soon as I set him down in the house he woke up (I think what happened the other day was a one time thing). So I got him all ready and we met Monet, Terje, Kate & Liam in the greenbelt behind Monet & my houses. After a bit we went into Monet & Terje's house and the boys were playing with Terje's toys. Monet snapped a shot of all 3 of them together, which is pretty amazing that they are all at least in the pic since Liam & Terje move around pretty quickly. Soon enough Tre will be moving around with his buddies and it'll be a 3 ring circus watching them interact!
So I have been meaning to put this little thing together and post it up on the blog. I made a little up to 6 months photobook of Tre. Kind of like a little quick review of the first 6 months with Tre in our life. Hope you enjoy it....
Quick how to on this feature...click on the Play icon, that will open up a new window where the photobook is viewable. Then the music will begin and the photobook will automatically start. You can pause it and turn the pages at your own pace, there are also a few videos added within the photobook (videos that I have posted here, but since I am emailing this out to many friends and family, they may not have seen them). Also to enlarge some of the images you can mouseover the image and click on it to see it.
Jammer got a remote control airplane and we thought it would be cool for Tre to check out so after Tre's morning feeding Jammer had started it up and unfortunately, Tre's excitement wasn't positive. But I'm sure as he gets older he will learn to be more interested.
Mellow day for Tre and I. He did however try a new veggie today. He finished with his trial of green beans and by last night he was eating them with barely a flinch. Now he is onto peas. Of course with everything new he has tried he isn't quite sure what to make of it at first and looks like he might not continue to eat it, however, my little trooper continues to open his mouth whenever the spoon comes his way. Yay for my big eater! After his morning nap, him and I played with his toys in the living room. Then down for another nap after Jammer left to go to work. He woke up from his midday nap and I got him dressed and we went for a nice walk around the neighborhood. By the time we got back to the house and got him and Noa out of their walking gear he was fussing a little bit so I put him down for his afternoon nap. Then he woke up and we played some more and went out on the patio to check out the outdoors where he LOVES to be. Then it was time for dinner and once dinner was over, time to get ready for bed.
Basically a pretty average day in our household with little Tre. In previous days he has been perfecting his ability to sit up unassisted. He rolled over randomly this morning when he was on his tummy which is always entertaining to see him doing something without my even trying to get him to do it. Monday was an interesting day, I was planning on meeting my friend Rachel at Lake Miramar to go for a walk with her, her daughter Ava and some other Mommies & their kids. First off, I left the directions at home (yes I know..forgetfulness is so frequent in my life now), so I had asked Jammer to text me the directions. Communication wasn't clear and he thought I knew what exit to get off at so he only text me the directions from when I get off the freeway and by the time I realized that he didn't text me the exit he was already at work so I was driving up and down the 15 thinking I would recognize it when I got to it, which wasn't the case. So I called Rachel and she gave me directions and then I still got off at the wrong exit thinking it was one over and I could find my way (which was an idiot move because I'm not the cleverest when it comes to direction) so I was lost even more and then found the freeway again and finally got to the lake, but by the time I got to the lake they were done with their walk. Since Tre, Noa and I were in the car for over an hour driving around I needed to get them out of the car to at least check things out and when I took Tre out of his car seat he had blown out of his diaper...horrible because I did not have a change of clothes with me (thank goodness I had diapers and stuff though). Luckily it wasn't as bad as I thought it was so his outfit was salvageable. I get out of the bathroom and meet up with Rachel, luckily she had some time and we ended up going to lunch so it wasn't a total loss of a trip. Geez...looks like I really need to get navigation on my cellphone or something because I was a complete moron with where I was going! Brain dead! So that was Monday's experience, thankfully Tuesday was not at all the same, Jammer had the day off so he went surfing and when Tre woke up from his nap we drove up to Oceanside to pick up some disks from a client of mine's house and then met Jammer over at Oceanside Harbor for some lunch, then back home and we ended up taking a walk a little later to the grocery store. Nice day!
Now for a blast from the past...can you believe my little man was actually this small at one point of his life? So tiny! It's so true what they say, "They grow up SO fast!"
Yes, another post about the beach, but this time Tre touched the sand and water so again I HAVE to share! He wasn't a big fan of the cold water (can you blame him? it's pretty chilly). But he was okay with his toes touching the sand and we hung out there for a little bit.
As the week of great weather has been coming to an end we had to get Tre out to the beach one more time! Jammer had Sunday afternoon off (had to work in the morning), he went out to surf after he got off work and when Tre woke up from his nap we met him at the beach. He came in from surfing for a little bit to visit with us so of course Tre gets so excited when he sees his Dada coming in from the water! It's really cute...! It was another beautiful day and I just don't want it to end! Can it please be this nice everyday? I wish!
Once it was time for Jammer to go back into the water (he was getting pretty warm sitting in his wet suit on the beach) we decided to get things packed up and head home for Tre's afternoon nap. I was hoping and hoping that Tre wouldn't fall asleep on the drive home but of course he did. However, I was pretty impressed with myself and how I managed to get Tre from the car to his room without waking him up. If you knew where we lived, you'd be pretty impressed too!
I pulled into our garage, went and grabbed Noa so that he wouldn't bark when I brought Tre into the house, brought Noa with me to the garage, placed him in the open trunk, then grabbed a blanket and put it over Tre's car seat, took Tre out of the car in his car seat, placed him next to the mailboxes in the shade and grabbed Noa (he was in his bag), walked Tre (and Noa) up the stairs to our condo, brought Tre into the house, walked down the hallway to Tre's room, had to lift him over the baby gate we have set up on the door to Tre's room since his car seat doesn't fit in the opening of the gate, placed Tre on the floor in his car seat next to his crib and turned on the monitor and left the room. Phew...after all that I was so tired BUT I was also very happy because Tre ended up getting a 50 minute nap, which is a definite plus and made the maneuvering all worth it!
Here is Tre as he sees his Dada coming out of the water...
It is now time to start trying out veggies with Tre. Since his bowels are still having issues the nurse recommended trying green veggies first since that might help. So we started with some pureed green beans. It was pretty funny to watch Tre's reaction to this so of course me needing to document EVERYTHING, I grabbed the video camera and started filming.
It was pretty early in the morning so I'm really tired, Tre woke up at 6:10am this morning, went to bed later than usual last night and woke up in the middle of the night so I didn't really get a very good night's sleep. But no rest for the Mommy (apparently it's okay for Daddy to rest though, go figure, hehe). Normally Jammer is going to do the morning solids feeding while I make us breakfast (when he doesn't have to work early) and I do the evening solids feeding (as well as the other feedings that only Mommy can do). But with Tre waking up early this morning Jammer wasn't in a mood to get up, so being the nice wife that I am, I did the morning veggie feeding. :-)
It was entertaining to me, so I hope you find it somewhat entertaining.
This evening we changed from rice cereal to oatmeal cereal since I was told that is easier for Tre to pass than the rice cereal. Plus I was told to give him a little bit of prune juice, however he is SO not down with the prune juice and I can't really blame him...I can't even smell it. Ugh...not my type of juice.
Well, I don't know what it was that worked for him but Tre had a successful evening of food and diaper change (if you catch my drift). So he was feeling much better when he went to bed, hopefully that means he will sleep better tonight. I HOPE! He liked the oatmeal cereal though so that is good, looks like we'll be switching to the oatmeal cereal now to avoid too much suffering for poor little Tre!
That's right, you read this title right, we have been to the beach in January (well Tre and I have gone twice this week - as you may know from reading his 27 week bday post)! It has been BEAUTIFUL this week! I do not want it to end!!! It's been so nice, warm and sunny during the day and then it cools down at night, which is great for sleeping because I hate the warmth at night while I am trying to sleep (or should I say nap since I haven't had a full night's sleep since Tre was born)!
Jammer had today off work so after Tre's morning nap we went for a walk to the library and the grocery store, one of the greatest things about where we live is the close proximity to things like the grocery story, library, food places, etc. So we went over to the library to pick up a new book for me to read (reading Dexter in the Dark by Jeff Lindsay - this is the 3rd in his 4 book series). Then to the grocery store to pick up a few items and then back home. Tre went down for his midday nap at this point which lasted about an hour and a half.
During Tre's nap, Jammer went out to go surf so that by the time we got to the beach he would be close to done and then be able to hang on the beach with Tre and I for a bit. I got Tre all set to head over to the beach and of course everything takes so much longer so we didn't get out the door until an hour after he woke up, which doens't leave us much time to do anything when that happens since he usually goes to sleep around 2 hours after he woke up. I picked up Submarina for us to eat lunch at the beach and then we got ourselves to the beach pretty quickly (thank goodness for being close). I packed my gear with baby & dog in tow and headed for the dreaded Grandview staircase!
Of course, the unfortunate thing about Grandview beach is no dogs are allowed, I know I know, you read that I brought Noa...yes, I'm a horrible person and brought Noa with me in his bag. He most often just hangs out in the bag so I figured it's winter, what's the harm if he isn't cruising around the beach. Well, right after we got there I was pretty distracted with getting Tre out of the front carrier I had him in and Noa had popped out of his bag to check things out. Just my luck, a lifeguard truck drives by and sees Noa wandering around and tells me "No Dogs on the Beach!" He did inform me that there was a beach past Encinitas in Cardiff I think he said that is a dog friendly beach, which I actually didn't know about so I'll have to take Noa there sometime soon, so I got some information that I didn't have before! Hehe! Anyways, he asked if I was leaving and I told him that I had just gotten there and he said, "Well, sorry, no dogs, you are going to have to pack it up!"
Okay, so I decided that if I put Noa in his bag then I could at least get a few pictures of Tre at the beach. C'mon, if you saw that staircase you would think the same thing...I did not walk all the way down that staircase just to get to the bottom, unpack my things, then pack them back up and walk back up the stairs. Plus I was STARVING! I'm feeding two...so I couldn't wait any longer to eat my lunch, I don't know if I would've made it back up the stairs safely! That would've been a hazard! Luckily at that point Jammer was coming out of the water so he was able to snap some shots of Tre and I hanging out at the beach and so we finished our sandwiches and headed home. Tre was very entertaining while at the beach, he was giggling, kicking his feet on the ground and he even got sand on his face.
Here is a slideshow of Tre and I at the beach, having fun:
Here is a slideshow of Jammer and Tre:
We took a little video of Tre hanging out at the beach:
And lastly, Tre attempted to use a sippy cup for the first time today. We poured just a little bit of water in it to allow him to practice, I don't think he ever sipped from it though, he pretty much just started chewing on it, but at least he is learning how to hold it properly.
27 Weeks! Today was a fun filled day! The weather has been SO awesome! It started out with the morning ritual of breakfast and play time with Tre. Then nap time was upon us and little Tre went down for his nap, only a 40 minute nap, but at least it was long enough to take a shower and get cleaned up. Then Tre and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. It was so nice and warm out, I just can't believe it is January (no complaints though, I could definitely get used to this weather)! We came back to the house and Tre took his midday nap. This one was a short 30 minute nap, not a whole lot of time to get anything accomplished for myself. I had decided to take Tre to the beach, he hadn't been to the beach since he was like 2 months old. So we packed up some things to take to the beach (even took Noa with us, hehe). I'm pretty impressed sometimes with my ability to carry a bunch of stuff along with a 19 pound baby. Plus I brought food with me so I could finally eat some lunch, since I was sort of in that neighborhood, I thought I would visit Kealani's for some yummy hawaiian food. One small detail that I failed to remember that really bummed me out....a FORK! Yep, so I grabbed a piece of my teriyaki chicken with my hands and that was all I ate while at the beach. Bummer, oh well. So we hung out there for a short while (not too long since I didn't have an umbrella and it was pretty warm, just enough to say that we went to the beach). It was really cute to watch Tre and see how he reacted to being at the beach. I wonder if he recognizes the sound of the ocean. Every time I took him to the beach from when he was around 2 months old, he pretty much slept the entire time we were there and then we went to the beach a ton while I was pregnant (plus went to Hawaii twice). He seemed to be interested in what was going on around him and even more interested in messing with the blanket he was laying on and kicking his feet. It was funny preparing him for the beach and putting sunscreen on him now that he is 6 months old, which made me feel better about just sitting there, even though I put his Hurley blanket with the hood over his head to protect his bald spot sticking out of his hat and to just keep the sun from hitting his skin directly. I tried to get a picture of him and I together but as you can see from the one here, it was quite difficult. But he is so sweet always reaching out for me when I get close and touching my face. So we packed up our stuff and went home, it was getting close to Tre's afternoon nap and he was looking a little sleepy. I had to talk to him the whole drive home so he wouldn't fall asleep...it's the worst when he falls asleep in the car, takes a 5 minute nap and then doesn't want to take an actual nap, he's not a very happy camper when that happens, so I try to deter the napping in the car thing unless we are driving long distance. We got home and he was just about to fall asleep when I took him out of the back seat and took him upstairs. Getting him to nap that day was quite the task, even though he was tired I think he was still a bit wound up from the beach. There was so much to look at. Another 30 minute nap was all he took. So we played in his room for a little while, did some tummy time (which he is definitely not a fan of). Good thing I got this picture before he started crying. Then it was time to feed him and all that prior to going to bed.
Lastly, we have a video of Tre practicing his sitting up. He is just about there!
Tre had his 6 month check up (and shots). Tre's appointment went very well. We picked up Jammer from his work (which is right next door to Tre's pediatrician - very convenient). Drove over to the pediatrician office and before we went in to the office we gave Tre a dose of Tylenol, knowing he was going to have his shots, we wanted to get the Tylenol in his system beforehand to hopefully ease the pain of the shots.
Once we got into the doctor's office, they measured his length & head and then we went to weigh him on the baby scale. His measurements are looking good and he is above average on all measurements. His height is 27 inches, which is in the 67th percentile. His weight is 19 pounds, which is in the 74th percentile. His head circumference is 46 centimeters, which is in the 95th percentile. Yes, our little man has a BIG brain...hehe!
We discussed solids and what to do next. Tre has been continually eating rice cereal since November 28th, 2008. But only eating it in the evenings. So now we are to start feeding him rice cereal in the morning and the evening as well as introduce a new vegetable every 4 or 5 days and then after we feed him a few veggies then switch to fruits, once he has tried each of the options and has done alright we can move to mixed meals. We plan to introduce green beans first since the doctor recommended a green vegetable to start since Tre is having less often stools and a little trouble (sorry for the baby poo mention). So that'll be interesting to begin, the start of feeding the little man real food and not just breast milk.
After discussing what to expect and do until we come back for his 9 month check up, it was time for Tre to get his shots. Yuck, I hate this part! So I step back and Jammer takes the reigns on this one (thank goodness) and stands by Tre while he gets his shots. Tre was a tough little man, only cried for a quick yelp after the second shot (the nurse told us that one was going to hurt the most). So after 3 shots in his legs he was pretty good. We got him dressed, checked out and were on our way to lunch. We went to Panera for lunch and I was so glad that Tre was doing well after his appointment that we were able to eat inside instead of rushing to get food and hurrying home. After lunch, we took Jammer back to work, then Tre and I drove home to put Tre down for his afternoon nap.
All in all, the day was pretty good and I always enjoy getting the updates on Tre's measurements.
I meant to post this video the other day with my Tre's 6 months old post, but forgot so here it is, it is Tre after I took those few pictures of Tre, I decided to get some video of him because he was talking a lot. Enjoy!
This video is me sneaking up on Tre while he was in his crib, I had already come in and turned on the light and needed to put a few things away in his room so I decided to keep him in his crib as long as he wasn't fussing and he was entertaining himself so well that I thought it'd be funny to capture video of him without him knowing that I was filming. This was before we went to his doctor's appointment. Then it's kind of funny when Tre realizes that I am there and filming him.
Tre had his first play date with Ava. I guess I should start by explaining who Ava is. Well, it all started at my friend Jolene's Holiday Party in December. She's been doing this holiday party for a few years now and a bunch of girls that all know each other somehow get together, eat food, open white elephant gifts and chat about what's going on. I was drawn to this little munchkin that was attending the party that looked very close to Tre's age, however she was much more energetic than Tre would be at that time of the evening. I was wishing so much that Tre wasn't sleeping so I could've brought him to the party to meet this little girl. I went over to say hi to her and met her Mommy, Rachel. Rachel informed me her daughter's name was Ava and we began to talk. Found out that Ava was about 2 weeks or so older than Tre. Rachel and I ended up talking a ton after all the gifts were opened and people were sort of hanging out or going home. Time had flown by and I realized that it was time for me to head home, I had a little man that was going to wake up sometime in the middle of the night to eat so I needed to get a few Zzzz's.
Rachel had mentioned that she was on Facebook so I decided to add her as a friend and we got to chatting and decided it would be fun to get Tre and Ava together. I was super excited because there are no babies Tre's age around here. We planned a date and picked going to the park for their first play date since they both really like the swings (and if you have paid any attention to my blog, you will know we have taken Tre to the swings quite a bit lately, he loves them).
We met at the Submarina by my house for a little lunch and then when we were done we went over to the park up the street from my house. It was pretty busy but we were lucky enough to grab the two swings that were next to each other. So we propped our little ones into the swings with their shopping cart covers for support and off they were swinging. Ava was giggling so much it was so cute! Tre had his laugh here and there but for the most part was just watching everything that was going on around him. There were kids running around everywhere so he just kept staring out at all that was going on.
After a little while we took the kids out of the swings and went over to a bench so Rachel could feed Ava and we could just sit and chat. Noa was in the basket of Tre's stroller and he got a ton of attention, kids were loving him, he enjoyed it for a few minutes but after a while he just wanted to slump down in the basket and nap. Noa has become quite a little lazy dog, if he is out and about with me, he is so calm and relaxed that he falls asleep in his bag. After Ava was done eating, we sat the two facing each other, Tre was very intrigued with Ava, he was a little fussy at some points but when Ava was facing him at first, he was staring at her, they even grabbed for each other's hands a couple times, super cute!
We stayed until the sun was getting ready to set and had decided this was a good thing and we are going to plan another play date, maybe go for a walk this time or something. So I'm super excited to have someone to hang out with sometimes that has a baby the same age as Tre. Thanks to Jolene's Holiday Party, Tre and I gained new friends!
So as you can see swings are the new favorite thing to do with Tre. The park has been a great place to take Tre to entertain him for a little while. Plus the weather has been FANTASTIC! So Jammer had Sunday off and we were looking for something to do with Tre in the window of time we had before his nap, I recommended the park and so we decided to drive over since it's so close and play on the swings for a short while. An easy way to entertain the little tyke!
We stayed for a little while, it was pretty busy. But not too busy where we had to wait for a baby swing, YAY! It was a nice trip to the park and we are so excited to have this option as one of the things to do close by.
What a busy day, but a fun filled family day! We had two events to attend. One picnic that was planned by Jammer's cousin Heidi up in La Crescenta and the other was my niece Breanna's birthday dinner.
Our day started early...Tre was up around 6am. At least an hour or so earlier than he wakes up normally. So we got started with our morning ritual of first me feeding Tre and changing his diaper, then off to Jammer in bed while I get breakfast started and they spend some time together. We ate breakfast and then eventually it was time for Tre to take a nap. We had originally planned to have him nap in the car ride up to La Crescenta, but since Tre woke up earlier than we thought he would we decided to put him down for his nap at our house and then drive up after he wakes up. Then Tre ended up taking a 2 hour nap...NICE...well, usually nice but not today when we had banked on him doing his normal one hour or less nap. So we were pacing waiting for him to wake up so we could get on the road. Finally we are on the road and on our way up to the picnic. Tre was really good the whole drive, didn't fuss barely at all. I was reading out loud on the way up there (or at least tried to, for some reason reading out loud made me nauseous so I had to stop both times after a little while. There was traffic on the way up there and by the time we got close it was time for Tre to take a nap...he probably would've taken a little cat nap if we had taken a little bit longer to get there but we arrived and Tre woke up from his zone and we were out the door.
Ever since I took Tre on the swings on Thursday, Jammer has wanted to do the same, so he was anxious to get Tre on the swings at the park we were at so we said Hi to his cousin, her husband and kids, then decided to head over to the swings. Tre was having a blast, giggling and everything. It was SUPER windy so his hair was flying all over the place (or should I say his mohawk collection of hair on his head - both sides are really short but the length is on top in the middle). Jammer's Mom and sister were planning on meeting there as well, they brought us sandwiches from La Canada Imports, which is Jammer's favorite sandwich place in La Canada. The picnic continued and we were SO amazed at how well Tre was doing. He was being a trooper and in pretty good spirits considering he woke up from his nap at 10:45am.
There were some pretty awesome yellow colored trees where we were sitting and I snapped this shot of Tre and I just thought it was so cute (wish he didn't have that pacifier in his mouth, but at that point that was the only thing keeping him from fussing). Around 3:30pm we decided it was time to head out. We had a birthday dinner to get to. We said our goodbyes and got on the road, little Tre was done at this point and he fussed a little bit until he finally fell asleep at 3:45pm, he ended up napping for about 30 minutes and about 10 mins later we got to my sister's house where the birthday dinner was at. He was pretty hungry so when we got inside I headed to my sister's room to put all his stuff down and feed him immediately. He was content after that and enjoyed the rest of the time with us until it was time for him to go to bed.
My cousin, Jarid came to the bday dinner as well and brought his new little one, Tre's cousin Brandon. I was so excited because I was dying to meet him. It's so funny to compare the sizes of the two right now. Tre is this big lug compared to Brandon who is SO tiny right now...well tiny in my book because Tre is so much bigger now. But once upon a time Tre was that size.
It was a long and busy day, but a great one. I was super tired on the drive home and was so happy to jump into bed.
Here are a few more pics...

Half a year has gone by! My baby's half birthday is here and I can't even believe it! The day before Tre turned 6 months old my friend Monet and I took our boys to the park up the street. I put Tre in a swing for the first time and he loved it. He was having so much fun! It was a little bit of a chilly day so I bundled him up and we drove over to the park. I have been wanting to take him to try the swings for quite some time but just didn't know exactly where to go, so Monet guided me to the park near our house that she takes her son to pretty often.
It was around 3:45pm or so when we got to the park. I put Tre's shopping cart cover in the swing to allow for a bit more cushion since Tre isn't 100% holding himself up unassisted yet, almost there but with the movement of the swing I figured a little extra support wouldn't hurt. Then put Tre in the swing and lightly pushed him, his feet started kicking and I think he really liked the feel of himself sort of flying I guess you could call it.
I took a ton of pictures but thought I'd choose just a few because I have a feeling I'll be taking lots of pictures of Tre on the swings until he can sit up by himself, then crawl and then walk.
Here are a few pictures that Monet took with her camera that we just LOVE:
AND...a video of Tre on the swings...
Then on Tre's actual 6 month birthday we spent the morning practicing sitting up and playing with his toys...also I got Tre this sign, sing & play kit a week or so ago, so we could practice baby sign language, I popped in the CD that had songs that we could learn to sign together and figured it couldn't hurt to play the songs and sing to him (while trying to do the signs I know, hard when the song goes so quickly and I am trying to learn the song and the signs at the same time, hehe, but I'm sure it'll get easier as I memorize the songs). After Tre's nap we got ready to go bring lunch to Jammer, but before I got Tre out of his crib I was cracking up watching him on the video monitor. He is squirming so much! As soon as he wakes up he begins to rotate himself sideways. It's been cool because it entertains him for a bit so I can go into his room, talk to him and put things away if I need to or do things in there that I can't do while he is sleeping. As I was picking out his outfit for the day I look over and he was facing the complete opposite direction than when he sleeps. It was so funny! You'll notice that in these pictures he is making funny faces, he has now began to say "Oooooh" all the time! Especially when he is in his crib, it goes from low to high pitch when he does it.
We picked Jammer up and went over to get food and then came back to his work and ate lunch, then Tre and I went over to Michael's to buy some baskets to organize the junk under our sink. Then back home for Tre's afternoon nap. After Tre woke up from his nap him and I were hanging out at the house until Jammer got home from work. Tre likes to sit in the rocking chair when we are in his room, he looks like such a big boy when he does it. I got some cute pics of him..sporting his Lotus Baby gear (onesie & beanie).
Once Jammer got home I fed Tre his nightly rice cereal meal and then it was time to give this little man a bath. Jammer still helps out with the bath so we can bathe him in his little bath tub, since Tre isn't sitting up on his own yet Jammer sits in the tub while Tre plays in his little bath tub and holds him up so he doesn't drown, while I scrub a dub dub and get this little man all clean! It's fun and Tre LOVES staring at his Dada while splashing in the water.
And...how cute are these little wrinkly feet? So that was the end of Tre's 6 month birthday. Pretty standard day but fun nonetheless! Tre has a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so we'll have an update on his growth and development then!
