Happy 33 Week Birthday Tre

So...the weekly update...
That Mom/Baby group I joined has been so much fun and kept us active in doing things pretty regularly which has been great for both Tre and I since we both can't stand to be bored with nothing to do. Tre is meeting potential new friends and I have found that there are some really cools Moms in my area that I would've never met if it wasn't for this group...I'm pretty grateful to have found it.

Thursday, Feb 19th we had a little visit to the Starbuck's down the street and met up with some moms and their babies for a short while. We were supposed to head to the San Elijo Nature Center after Tre's nap but he ended up taking a longer nap than anticipated so we missed it and just brought Jammer food.

Friday, Feb 20th I met my friend Allison and her son Cole up in Oceanside. She had a stroller fit class in the morning so we met her after the class and walked to Oceanside Harbor for lunch and then walked back. It was a good, long walk and we had a good lunch as well. The boys sat in high chairs next to each other with their little placemats and had some fun. I got a little sun so that was nice. It was a beautiful day! Tre took a much needed nap when we got home.

Saturday, Feb 21st was my nephew Masonn's birthday party at Chuck e Cheese and then my Mom and Masonn's birthday dinner at my parents house that night. Tre's first time at Chuck e Cheese, it was very entertaining for him. All the lights and characters moving on the stage. We took two cute pictures at one of the picture takers there which makes the picture look like it was drawn and as soon as I get my printer and computer connected (got a new printer) I will scan the pics and post them up. Then after Chuck e Cheese we went to my parent's house. My cousin Jarid and his wife Stacey came over with their kids, including Tre's cousin, Brandon. We got some cute pics of Tre & Brandon hanging out in a chair together. Tre was already changed into his jammies since he was super tired from a long day (click on the button next to the pic to see more). Sunday, Feb 22nd we ended up just hanging out, ran a few errands and went for a little walk around the neighborhood.

Monday, Feb 23rd we had a playdate. Lisa and her daughter Aryana put on the playdate at their house which turned out to be pretty close to us, so that was convenient. We had a great time hanging out and Tre has gotten more and more comfortable with playing with the other kids, watching what they are doing and has become a bit of a chatter box at times.

Tuesday, Feb 24th we went to brunch at Le Papagayo and it was supposed to be a pretty good turnout of a group and unfortunately a bunch cancelled. Thankfully one other Mom and her son showed up, thank goodness or Tre and I would've been alone. We got to know Suzanna and her son Quinn better by being able to just hang out with them since we were the only ones that showed up. It turned out great, Suzanna is a really nice person and Quinn is about 2 weeks or so younger than Tre so that was cool to meet someone with a son practically the same age as Tre.

Wednesday, Feb 25th Jammer's brother John was in town so they went surfing while Tre was napping and then my friend Monet had called and invited Tre and I to meet at Moonlight Beach Park. We had never been there before so it was cool to check out a new park. It's right next to the beach which is great to be able to hear the ocean while playing at a park. Then when Jammer and John were done surfing I went over to where they were so John could see Tre before Tre's nap. After Tre's nap I met some of the moms in my group at Aviara Park down the street from our house. Tre was in a very talkative mood at the park and I got him on video talking a ton to Emily (the little girl in the video).

video

After the park we went home to put Tre down for a nap, which he wouldn't take but did at least rest in his crib for about 30 minutes, awake but not screaming. We then went and took Jammer lunch since he was closing and wasn't going to be able to say goodnight to Tre. Then back home to get Tre fed and into bed.

What a full week...just like we like it. Entertaining and great company throughout the entire week. A few other things that are going on with Tre are...one thing that is just so adorable now is he has started to do a bit of cuddling before naptime, if he is tired he will rest his head on my shoulder. It is so cute and I just want to hold him forever but being that he is probably close to 20 pounds makes it rather difficult to hold him for too long. But it's been a treat to put him down for a nap when he does that because I just feel so comforted by that little display of love. The other thing that is kind of funny is Tre has been quite the kicker in his bed lately. The hard part about putting him down for a nap is that his feet seem to have a mind of their own. He's got his hands over his eyes and looks like he is ready to pass out but his legs are kicking and bouncing. Could this be a sign of crawling in the future? Hmmmm...who knows? Now that he is sitting up with no problems I almost don't want him to crawl yet. I love that him and I can sit there and play (until he gets bored that is). Sometimes when he is napping and kicking at the same time I have to hold the legs down until he completely falls asleep, takes a few minutes longer than the rest of his body to calm down and take a nap. Crazy, huh? He is saying Mama a bunch and sometimes says "Da", occasionally I think I hear him say Dada, but I can't get him to repeat it like he did Mama.

Well that's my novel for this week...hope you enjoyed a week in the life of Tre and I!

Happy 32 Week Birthday Tre

Over the last week we have had some fun activities going on and then some not so fun rainy days. Last week we went to Open Gym at the YMCA. It was fun but I think it'd be more fun if he had a kid the same age there with him since it was geared more towards kids that could walk and run around. But it was worth checking out and if there is a rainy day, it could be worth just going to have some visual entertainment for Tre.

We went in the foam pit which was pretty funny since we would sink in it and I almost lost a sock. We met a Mom and her daughter from the Mommy/Me group I am in and she took a cute picture of Tre and I while in the foam pit. We had a diaper blow out right when we got to the gym so I had to change Tre's clothes into his emergency clothes (so his socks don't match his outfit, hehe).

The rainy weather didn't allow for much to do as far as going outside a whole lot. On Saturday, which was Valentine's Day it was at least not rainy so we ventured outside for a bit and took a few pictures & video. Tre played with his toys and just checked out his surroundings. He is baby talking a ton now...so I got him on video talking while we were hanging out outside.

Jammer had Sunday off, so when he got home from surfing and Tre woke up from his midday nap, we went to this park in Leucadia over near his parent's house. It was kind of cold out but Tre had fun swinging on the swings and our friends' Cameron & Amy brought their two girls to play plus Jammer's Dad was in town so he stopped by for a visit. Cameron & Amy's youngest daughter was so cute and had asked to hold Tre, so Amy asked her to sit down and she put Tre on her lap and held him while she held him, it was so cute I had to take a picture.

We hung out there for a little bit there but we had to get Tre home for his afternoon nap. Once he woke up from his afternoon nap we decided to try our luck at taking Tre out to dinner with us and we met Cameron, Amy & their 2 girls at Pizza Port. It was a madhouse there and we didn't get an end table so we had to feed Tre his dinner while holding him (not so fun), plus I think Tre isn't used to so much chaos going on and he got fussy during his meal and wouldn't finish. Luckily we at least got to eat our food while Amy held Tre and then we fed him and left as soon as things started to go south for Tre. He was done for the day and the noise at Pizza Port wasn't agreeing with the mood he was in. But it was worth a try and maybe next time we plan to go out to eat, we'll eat a little earlier and get Tre home well before bed time.

Monday was a stormy day so we were cooped up inside the house all day, my friends Beau & Bjorn stopped by for a little 3D Entertainment meeting to discuss redesign plans for the website I manage, as well as to FINALLY meet my little man Tre. Tuesday was cool, we went to the Cole Library for their S.M.A.R.T. Baby Class, which we ended up getting there late because the 5 north had crazy traffic (at 11am, what the heck was going on?). But got there in time for Tre to play a little with the other kids and then 2 of the Moms that I have met a few times from my Mommy/Me group invited Tre and I to lunch which was very nice because sometimes Tre and I just want to get out and have a meal with people or do stuff that entails adult and child interaction. Lunch was nice, we went to Las Olas in Carlsbad Village.

Now for something I am so excited to post, one of the MOST exciting things happened yesterday...Tre said MAMA...it's not clear as a bell, but you know he is saying it...and it is just too cute...this video is pretty funny too because I say Mama a ton of times and after a few he starts to yell it at me, like yes Mama, that's what I said...hehe...

Today we went for a ride in the car to one of the mommies houses to pick up Tre's blanket that we left from their birthday party and then after a very long attempt to put Tre down for a nap, he finally took a nap over an hour later, he slept for a bit so I could have some lunch and then we met some of the moms and their babies for a walk over at Tamarack Beach. It was pretty windy out but it was still nice to get out and walk, especially with all the rain that has been going on. Gotta stretch our legs when we can!

Tre is moving a ton in his crib, when he wakes up he starts rolling around in there doing 180 turns in a matter of a few rolls, even attempting to be on his tummy and pushing off the crib to move around. However, it's funny he doesn't do that much movement outside of his crib. I guess that's where he is teaching himself how to do these things and then once he masters it in the crib he attempts it elsewhere. That was one of the things that kept him from napping this afternoon. He was moving around the crib like a wild man. Not fussing or anything, just rolling around, spitting his pacifier out and then rolling on top of it to put it back in his mouth. His legs look like they have a mind of their own because he has his hands over his head and eyes closed ready for bed, then his legs start kicking and startle him awake, it's crazy! It was pretty funny to watch but after 40 minutes he started to get overtired and frustrated so I had to get creative to get him to calm down and take a nap.

Had to post this pic because you can see some of his teeth...not the greatest pic, but there are some teeth which are really hard to capture...

Here is a video that we took FINALLY capturing Tre rolling over, woo-hoo. He is rolling over a bunch now over the past few days but this video was one of the times I had the camera next to me so I video'd him, first getting upset that he was on his tummy then after Jammer helped him with is positioning he rolled over...

Happy 31 Week Birthday Tre

As the weeks go by, I start to laugh at the every week post that I put up, saying happy birthday to Tre every single week. But it's how I started the process and will continue with the weekly updates until Tre is at least a year old (I hope).

Tuesday we went to La Costa Resort and Spa, walked around and checked out their bistro. We have been wanting to go over to the resort and check it out for quite some time and finally took the opportunity to go take a look when Jammer got done surfing. When we got home from that we put Tre down for a nap then I had checked my email and saw that my friend/neighbor Monet had emailed me asking if Jammer, Tre and I were interested in doing a Valentine photo shoot and you know me, loving pictures...I was up for it, so once Tre woke up from his nap, we got him ready and went out and about through our complex in a few areas and took some photos. Monet has started up a blog geared directly towards her photography called Snap this Foto. Check it out to see some of the great shots that she took of us.

As for Tre's official 32 week birthday, we went to Costco in the morning and put Tre in the shopping cart with his shopping cart cover for the first time! It was so cute to see him sitting up so well in the shopping cart like a big boy. We grabbed a few things there and then went home. My friend Candice came over for lunch a little later and we hung out for a bit while Jammer went surfing.

Then after Candice left Tre and I had a play date to go to with the Carlsbad Babies of 2008 group. It was at one of the Mom's houses in Calavera Hills. Just a handful of Moms and their babies got together for a little smaller group play time. Tre was the youngest of the group, there was a couple 1 year olds, an 8 month old and a 10 month old. Tre isn't on the move yet so he would pretty much just hang out next to me and watch what was going on. But he had fun with the toys and I think he enjoys watching. Plus I think it's good for him to watch other babies and see how they move, it'll help guide him to what he needs to do next. It was a fun play date and on the way home Tre took a little 5 minute nap. Long afternoon. Then we fed him and put him to bed.

Here is Tre's weekly picture...

Here is a pic of Tre in an exersaucer at the play date...

And some fun pics of Jammer, Tre and I....

And another cute shopping cart picture...

I have two videos that I want to share but will probably have to load them on another post as it is late and I want to get this posted.

Lucky You

Lucky you! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows?
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

This is what happens when you follow a few blogs, you check out their site, hoping to read about their recent travels, see what they're photographing, how their babies are growing, and bam you find this.

Hehe...alright Monet...I posted it up....I want something made by you!!!

Tre is 7 Months Old

7 Months! I almost forgot the day had come because it is just so crazy to think that he is another month older! His official 7 month birthday wasn't super exciting as it was a rainy day and the weather wasn't the greatest for going out and doing fun stuff. We did our morning routine and then in the afternoon went to meet Jammer for lunch, then back to the house for a mini nap and then nighttime routine. Standard day without the fun of outside activities.

However, we did do some fun things over the weekend. Saturday, Tre had a birthday party to go to, a boy named Bode had his 1st birthday party. Bode is one of the boys in Tre's new playgroup that we had joined. So we went over there after Tre woke up from his morning nap and played with the other kids. It was raining pretty heavily so we stayed indoors (bummer for Bode's bday party, they had gotten a big bouncer and because of the rain they had to put the bouncer in the garage, but the kids still seemed to have fun on it). After Bode's birthday party we came home and Tre took a nap and then woke up and we went to Borders Bookstore for their Kids Valentine's Party and met my friend Rachel and her daughter Ava there. We hung out for a bit at Borders but then when it was time for the final story time Ava & Tre were pretty wound up and giggling and stuff so we decided to walk around and look at the other stores in the shopping center.

After hanging out at The Forum shopping center, we went and met Jammer for a late lunch since he was closing that day. After lunch it was pretty close to Tre's dinner time so we got home and played for a bit with his toys and then got him ready for dinner and finally bed. Fun filled day for Tre!

Since Saturday was pretty much Tre day (well most days are Tre days), I decided to do something for Noa on Sunday (Tre included). My friend Jolene and her dog Cody came with Noa, Tre and I to this place called Dogtopia in San Marcos. It is an indoor play area for dogs. I had joined this Small Dogs of North County Meetup group as well and Dogtopia is the destination for their meetups. Before leaving to go to Dogtopia Tre was napping and normally his naps have been pretty short, but it seems quite often that he'll take a longer nap when I need him to wake up sooner. My biggest annoyance is to have to wake him when he is sleeping because obviously he is sleeping because he needs the rest, so I tried to wait as long as possible, then slowly started getting him ready to wake up, opened the drapes, took his blankets off, etc. While I was doing this he looked so peaceful that I snapped a few pics of him sleeping, so precious!

Jolene and I took our pups to see what it was all about. One word, craziness, but fun for the dogs. Or at least it could be if our dogs weren't so overwhelmed. I guess they are both used to be the lone dogs at home and playing one on one with each other is more what they are used to. Neither of us really take our dogs to dog parks or anything so I think Cody & Noa were a little taken back by all the dogs running around and playing. It was pretty entertaining for me to see all these dogs just having so much fun. There was 2 dogs there that I didn't feel could be considered "small" dogs as they were more like medium sized dogs and made Noa & Cody look pretty small. Another dog was SUPER yappy and Tre wasn't liking that AT ALL. Every time dogs would come near the dog and it's owner, she would bark and chase them. It was pretty annoying and Jolene and I were thinking, okay, if that was my dog, I would not let it bark like that, but it seemed the dog owner was over trying to lay down the law with her dog. Who knows...all we knew was that it startled Tre every time the dog would bark and our dogs wanted nothing to do with the dog, plus the fact that it is an indoor dog play area, the bark echoed pretty loudly. Other than that it could be something we'd take our dogs back to. I think both our dogs need a little bit of doggy socialization (Noa is great with people & babies, but he isn't really used to being around a plethora of dogs, maybe it's time I take him to be with his own kind more often, hehe).

So that was our busy weekend, by the time Tre's official 7 month birthday rolled around, we were pretty tired, so we kept it low key the day of.

Growth updates for Tre, another tooth has come in, it's slowly emerging but a portion of it has broken through the gums, which gives him a total of 6 teeth now. No wonder he was having a tough time sleeping a short while back, this front tooth that is now coming out probably was moving around in there as well as that other tooth coming in. Teething is rough! It shocks me to see him with 6 teeth at 7 months old. Funny how development emerges for each child differently.

Here is a pic of Ava playing with Noa at Borders (hard to get a good shot, so this is the best I could get)...

Happy 30 Week Birthday Tre

Today was a great day! In fact the past three days have been pretty darn great! Much has changed from the troubles of last week. It's funny how each week brings on something different. Last week was very difficult for me and then this week has been quite the opposite. Thank goodness!

For starters, last Thursday (January 29th) we went on that walk at Tamarack Beach that I had mentioned in last week's post with the mom & baby group I had joined. It was a great walk and a BEAUTIFUL day! I met some great moms and some adorable little babies all around the same age as Tre.

Tuesday and Wednesday Jammer had the days off so we had ourselves a mini vacation at Jammer's parent's beach house in Leucadia since they were doing wood repair on our building in preparation for the painting project. To avoid disturbing Tre's naps with hammers & saws we thought it would be cool to stay at the beach house since Jammer had the two days off. Tuesday we woke up and thought we were going to get a free Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's but with a baby there is no way we were going to wait in the line we saw at the Encinitas Denny's, so we ended up getting Broken Yolk breakfast to go and ate at home, then put Tre down for his nap, got cleaned up and did some packing. Then when Tre got up from his nap we went to the Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas.

Once we got back from the Botanical Gardens we put Tre down for his next nap hoping that the hammering and sawing wouldn't start on our building yet. 40 minutes after Tre fell asleep it had began on the window downstairs so Tre woke up and I got ourselves packed up and headed over to the beach house while Jammer went surfing. It's amazing how long it can take to pack up a car when you have to go up and down stairs and to the detached garage and how short it takes to unpack the car when you are walking into the garage attached to the house. Yes...I am ready to move and anxiously awaiting the day it is possible! When Jammer got done surfing we hung out at the beach house for a bit and then just before the sun went down we walked over to the beach and watched it set and just gazed out at the beautiful ocean. Then walked back and got Tre fed and into bed. Jammer went and picked up Kealani's for dinner and we watched a movie, then to bed. I was exhausted.

Wednesday morning rolled around and we had breakfast & fed Tre. Then while he napped we got cleaned up. When he woke up we got him dressed & went for a walk to the Leucadia Donut Shoppe and then up to Grandview beach to check the surf and enjoy the view while eating our donuts. While we were there we were able to watch them dumping sand to help replenish the beach. Interesting to watch these big trucks driving on the beach dumping sand.

Then it was time for lunch a little bit later and we went to Kotija Jr Taco Shop which according to Jammer has the best fish tacos. Then back home for Tre's afternoon nap while Jammer washed my car and got ready to go surf. YAY for my clean car! Once Tre woke up from his nap it was time to quickly get ready and out the door to one of my Carlsbad Babies of 2008 group events. We were going to My Gym in Encinitas.

Unfortunately, the My Gym in Encinitas is closing it's doors on February 28th, so we got to have our free class but they are only open for a couple weeks and the closest ones are in Pacific Beach or Rancho Bernardo, not quite the convenient location. Anyways, the class was a ton of fun and there was about 14 Moms w/ their babies. A lot of kids older than Tre and probably 4 babies 7 months and younger. Tre was entertained the whole time except when he had found a great toy and started playing with it and then 5 older babies decided they wanted it too..he was not so happy to be pushed out of the way, but I distracted him with a new toy and moved out of the herd of bigger kids. It was an hour long. I was pretty tired at the end since Tre is still needing assistance I was wandering around with him looking for things to entertain him.

Class was over and we went back to the beach house to pack up and come back home. Mini vacation was over but much needed! Other updates, Tre is doing pretty well at standing while leaning on things AND he got ANOTHER tooth. His top front right tooth has come in. Can't believe he's got 5 teeth now!!! He turns 7 months old in 5 days! Growing so fast!!!!

Here is a video to close out this post....
