Thursday, April 23 was supposed to be Tre's last swim class, but of course the weather took a turn for the worst and was way too cold for me to get in that water and too breezy for me to feel good about Tre getting in the water without worrying about the temp change so we skipped swim. I felt so sad about it though, darn weather! Instead of swim we went and ran some errands to get some things for the house (and for Tre). Then Tre took a nap and when he woke up we played with his toys until Jammer got home from work. Then Jammer's brother John came over to see Tre and we went for a walk down to the music store across the street and then to eat some dinner at El Caribe across the street. When we got back to the house we fed Tre his dinner and then got him ready for bed.
Sunday, April 26th we did our morning routine with Tre and then while Tre took his morning nap I got stuff packed up and ready to leave for Arizona (while I was trying to get stuff packed from his room I had him playing in his room and he was being SO cute so I grabbed the video camera and started filming, we were waiting for Jammer to get back from surfing). We planned to leave around noon. We unfortunately didn't get out the door until around 1:15pm and grabbed some food at In & Out which took FOREVER and then we were on the road around 1:40pm and out to Arizona. Tre fell asleep about 10 minutes after we left In & Out and napped for about an hour. Then was awake for majority of the rest of the trip. We stopped in Yuma and then continued on, we had to stop about 30 minutes or so before we arrived in Mesa. Tre was getting fussy, hungry and needed to get in his jammies since he was going to fall asleep before we arrived. I changed his diaper, put his jammies on and nursed him and then we put him back in the car seat and about 10 minutes after, he fell asleep. We arrived at the motel and unpacked. Once we got everything unpacked we moved Tre into his pack'n play and hung out with the lights out and played on the computer until it was time for bed.
Monday, April 27th was the funeral for Jammer's Aunt. Tre decided to take a pretty good length nap in the morning so we missed the viewing portion and arrived late to the funeral. But luckily we made it in time to experience most of it. After the funeral everyone caravan'd over to the grave site and then back to the church for a luncheon where Jammer got to visit with all of his family that attended. He was grateful to see so many of his family that he hadn't seen in quite a while and Tre and I were able to meet family we had never met before. It's unfortunate that something like this is what brings family together but I guess on the lighter side of things it does bring family closer together. So our drive home was quite a bit later than we had originally anticipated and Tre's midday nap was totally messed up. Since we didn't get on the road until much later than we had hoped Tre didn't end up taking an afternoon nap so he was a little monster on the drive home. Overtired and frustrated and would not fall asleep. Even when he did finally fall asleep he woke up every 30 minutes whining, it was a LONG ride home. We finally got home and we were exhausted, Tre was so happy to be laying in his crib, after being crammed in his car seat for hours and hours, he spread out as far as his limbs could reach and slept on his tummy. Road trips are difficult with a little one, hopefully being on a plane will be easier. At least then we can get up and walk around when necessary rather than being confined to a car where he has to stay in his car seat.Tuesday, April 28th was a crazy day! The earlier portion was good, Tre and I hung out with Jammer and had lunch at Submarina after his morning nap. Then after Tre's afternoon nap we went over to Allison and Cole's house to go for a walk to the park. Here is where the crazy begins...we were getting our strollers together to get on our walk, I grabbed mine out of my car with Tre in my arms so I was only sort of paying attention. So I didn't catch the fact that I locked my keys in the trunk. Got everyone (Tre & Noa) in the stroller and we were ready to go for our walk when I realized that I didn't have my keys. We continued our walk and went to the park and then after about 30 minutes we decided it'd probably be best to go back home so I could call AAA and get my car opened. Well after an hour of waiting for AAA I called them to see what was going on and there was some confusion and documentation in my account that said that they couldn't get into my car however no one ever showed up. Ultimately they told me that only a locksmith could get into my car and it would be 90 minutes until he got there. At this point it was already 6pm and Tre was getting hungry and tired and I had a board meeting at 7pm. I decided to call around to see if any of my neighbors could help me out. Finally one of my neighbors was able to help me get into my house to get my keys and I picked them up driving Allison's car to get them and then came back with my spare key. Such a pain but thankfully we got home with my car and got Tre fed and in bed. Poor little guy was SO tired and could hardly eat his dinner. I was very late to my board meeting, didn't get there until 7:45pm. Needless to say, it was a rough day and I was exhausted!
Last thing on the development front, Tre has continued to make it through the remainder of the week without needing to nurse in the middle of the night. He has not however stopped waking up, so it was only that one night that he slept through the night. But he basically just wants his pacifier and then will fall right back to sleep. He is getting two teeth so I think that is part of the reason that he continues to wake up in the middle of the night.
