Happy 50 Week Birthday Tre

So I'm going to cut this post 1 day short of my traditional week since we are flying out to Hawaii tomorrow morning, I'm not sure I'll be able to complete the update of the week's post, this way I can update this post for the pre-Hawaii stuff and then next week's post can be focused ALL on Hawaii. I can't believe it is time to leave. I'm so nervous for the flights but excited for the trip.

Thursday, June 18th Tre had a play date over at his buddy Gibson's house. His mom Tina was so awesome, she prepared lunch for the kids and the moms. Totally yum! She also set up Gibson's little swimming pool for the kids to get in and play. The weather was awesome but we didn't bring Tre's swimming clothes so Tina let us use a swim diaper and I rolled up my pants and Tre played in the pool for a bit. Tre had the hiccups practically all day so when it was time for his afternoon nap just as he was falling asleep the dang hiccups came back and woke him back up and it took me a bit longer to accomplish nap time, he eventually went down but a bit later than I would've liked. I was worried bed time would be pushed back due to the late nap. After Tre woke up from his nap we ended up walking to the grocery store to pick up some things. And I was right about the late bedtime thing, he didn't end up going to bed until 9:15pm!! That's the latest he has ever gone to bed as long as he has had an official bedtime.

Friday, June 19th Tre woke up at his normal time even though he went to bed SO much later than normal. Jammer had training up in Irvine today so Tre and I just hung out at the house until my friend Allison had called to see if Tre and I wanted to meet her and Cole at the McDonald's play area for a little run around time (or with Tre more crawl around and walk with Mommy's help time). We hung out there for a bit and Tre learned how to climb up stairs. They have this cushy slide with cushy stairs that Tre was able to grasp easily and climb up. He was SO proud of himself once he made it to the top (there were like 3 or 4 steps). It was too cute and of course I was proud of him too, because I didn't even help boost him up at all, it was all on his own doing. Then we came home and he took a nap. Jammer got out of training and came home as quickly as he could because we had planned to go to Jazz in the Park. Our friend Stu was in town looking at houses to buy so he came up to our house and came with us to Jazz in the Park and we met our friends The Holschlag's there. It was a lot of fun and Tre was cruising around having a great time. Terje is a year older than Tre so Tre was watching him very wide-eyed, taking in all that Terje could do that Tre wasn't able to do yet, mostly Terje's ability to walk without wobbling. Hehe. It was a very fun night!!

Here is a video of Tre enjoying hanging out at Jazz in the Park:

Saturday, June 20th was the day of the Annual Father's Day BBQ at my parent's house. Tre took his morning nap and then we got him ready and fed and then when we got in the car we were hoping Tre would take his afternoon nap on the way up. Well, it didn't happen, poor little guy was SO tired but wouldn't go to sleep, he cried and fussed most of the way up there and then instead of saying Hi to everyone we went straight upstairs to put him down for a much needed nap. Jammer ended up napping up there with him since we didn't have our monitor and Tre was needing some comfort. After Tre woke up he had plenty of people that were dying to meet him, he was a busy little guy. It was cool because my cousin Isabelle and my cousin Jarid both have kids close in age with Tre. Isabelle's son, Liam is about 4 months younger than Tre and Jarid's son, Brandon is 5 months younger than Tre. They are all little cuties and I can't wait to watch them grow up together! I did notice, it is a lot harder to get pictures of all that is going on at an event while trying to take care of Tre so the only pics I got were of the kids at the end of the night just before it was time to go.

Sunday, June 21st was Father's Day and poor Jammer had to work. I spent a good portion of the day fixing our fridge as it was not working to its full capacity. Thankfully after a little info and help from my friend Tyler I was able to get it working after a few hours of defrosting and ice picking. Now we have a freezer that freezes and a fridge that keeps things cold. YAY! That was the most of my day. Tre woke up late this morning so his day was pushed back a bunch, poor kid was TIRED from all that happened the day before. We just hung out in the house all day, Tre kept himself busy playing in his play area, we played with bubbles on the patio which Tre was getting mad about because he couldn't catch them and then we played "knocking down the towers" in my bedroom.

Here is a video of Tre playing with bubbles on the patio...or should I say getting frustrated with not being able to catch the bubbles..

Here are some pictures of our freezer...
This is the freezer after the backing was taken off...check out that ice block...

This is a closer up look of how thick the ice was...

And this is a picture of what it looked like when I was done...YAY for ME!

Here is a video of Tre and I playing our "Tower Game" in my bedroom...

Monday, June 22nd I was getting stuff together to pack for our trip to Hawaii so we played in the house for the first portion of the day. Then Tre took an interesting afternoon nap. He fell asleep just fine, but then he woke up about an hour and 20 minutes later screaming, I went in to his room and he reached for me and wouldn't stop crying so I picked him up and cuddled him, figuring he would be hungry after his nap he nursed for a few minutes and then I thought it was time to get up, but he actually wasn't ready to get up, he decided to lay his head on my shoulder and wanted to cuddle so we sat there rocking for about 30 minutes. When I thought maybe he would want to sleep more since he was asleep on my shoulder I put him down in his crib and he woke up, but he was smiling and seemed much happier, so I guess he just needed those extra few minutes rest? After that experience we got ready to go run errands, we needed to pick up some things for our trip. Then we came home and got Tre ready for bed. A funny thing has happened over the past few days...Tre has found his nostrils!! Yep, I can't keep his finger from swooping up his nose. He doesn't really pick or do anything but slip his finger in and then take it out. He was doing it so much at dinner time that I had to take a picture...so yep, that's my son with his finger up his nose!! Lastly...I was happy to report that he finally fell asleep before 8pm for the first time in days!

Here is a video of Tre playing in his play area like a good little independent boy...notice his booty shake while standing up on the Leapfrog toy..so cute...

Tuesday, June 23rd...well today is a busy day, packing sure is difficult when you have a child to care for as well. AND having to pack for him as well as Jammer and I. Jammer and I are sharing a suitcase and Tre had to have his own because he needs so many things. I hope I don't forget anything!!! After Tre's morning nap he ate his lunch and then got him ready. We went to my friend Jen's house to borrow my friend Kelly's DVD player (Kelly let Jen borrow it and Jen hadn't gotten it back to her so I picked it up from Jen's house, hehe). Then by the time we were done there it was time to come back and get Tre down for his afternoon nap. After his afternoon nap we dropped Noa off at my friend Helen's house and then came back home to pack. Thankfully Jammer was home from work and was able to help at this point. We have planned to do our nighttime routine with Tre, dinner, bath and get him ready for bed. But instead of putting him in his crib we are going to put him in his car seat and drive up to Jammer's parent's house in La Canada so that we can be in the LA area in the morning for our flight. It's going to be a LONG day tomorrow I can feel it. And of course we are out the door and I realize that I didn't take the weekly pic, so the pic is of Tre in his jammies just before we are leaving. Fun fun!

Here is a video of Tre from today after he found the doggy door...

I forgot to post this video in last week's post, this is Jammer and Tre hanging out on the patio...

And last thing, on Wednesday night after my post last week I had to groom Noa...he was in major need of a bath and I haven't been able to find the time to take him to the groomers...
Here is a picture of my not so happy furry child after his bath...I did notice one thing, it's not a good idea to give such a furry dog a bath in the evening hours, poor little guy ended up shivering until I could get his undercoat somewhat dry which took FOREVER...

Seaside Summer Swap

Just wanted to do a quick post about the Seaside Summer Swap I was a part of that Grace had initiated. Our due date was last Monday to have it sent out but Tre was making things a little bit more difficult last week to get stuff accomplished (i.e.: not going to bed till much later in the evening), so my swap partner and I had agreed to mail our gifts on this past Monday.

So I had mine all packed up and ready to go on Sunday. I thought I would take some before wrapping and after wrapping pics of it and now that I have received my gift I'm assuming that she has received hers (hopefully, I wanted to wait to post this until after she had gotten hers so I didn't spoil the surprise).

So here is the BEFORE pic...

I bought the picture frame and put the shells on it and then included this picture that I had created and taken in Hawaii last year, we have one in a different style frame and stuff in our house with the phrase, "Everything Happens for a Reason, Just Believe". This was something we continued to hold on to while we were trying to get pregnant and then we made this when we were finally pregnant and happy to know we held on to our dreams and they finally came true. I found this cute beachy bird house, vanilla scented candle, beachy coasters & note cards.

Here is what the gifts looked like after I wrapped them...

I labeled each item with a little story or explanation as to why I chose the item and then included a card in the box as well.

I hope she liked it...

Happy 49 Week Birthday Tre

We are getting closer to the big FIRST BIRTHDAY!! Holy Cow! Tre has gotten his 14th tooth, another molar, his 4th and final bicuspid. Can't believe it. These molars have been a bit more difficult than the other teeth, it's certainly affected his sleeping and his behavior a bit. Taking naps and going to bed have been a task to complete. I think that it also has to do with his desire to walk. He can't relax because he wants to keep moving, even when he is tired.

Thursday, June 11th was another mellow day, we were still living with our outside stuff, inside the house but they finally painted the patio on this day. Which meant that we still had 48 hours before we could put the outside stuff back outside. We played in the house for a bit, Tre is trying to climb on things now so I have to watch him closely. Then we went out to run some errands. Here is a video of Tre being a little feisty man. I was trying to get him to say "Yes" on video because it is so cute, but he had already finished his dinner and it was time to get him bathed and ready for bed so he was over being in his high chair.

Friday, June 12th we went to San Elijo Park where they have a little water play area for kids. Spouts of water shoot up in different forms so the kids can play. The weather was looking not so warm when we were getting ready to leave so I wasn't sure if I was going to let Tre go in the water, plus I'd have to get wet too since he can't walk on his own yet so I wasn't too sure about that. We just hung out on the sidelines and watched the walking kids play in the water. Looks like something Tre will really enjoy when he can walk well. Unfortunately, no pics from this day.

Saturday, June 13th the Quail Botanical Gardens had a grand opening for their new children's garden so after Tre's morning nap I got him ready to head over. It was crazy, we got there just a few minutes before they cut the ribbon and let everyone in so the crowd was huge. Since Tre didn't eat a very good lunch before, I brought him some lunch with us and decided due to the craziness that we would go into the regular part of the gardens and sit in a shaded area and finish feeding him his lunch. Then we walked around a bit through the regular gardens and then made our way back to the craziness to walk the area and then went home for Tre's nap. When Jammer got home from work we went for a walk and got some frozen yogurt, yum. AND we got to move our outside stuff back outside which was a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders of frustration because it was getting unbearable to have that stuff in the house, it had been in the house since Monday so 6 whole days with that junk in the house. TOO long! Here is a video of Tre in the kitchen, he wanders everywhere now and here he is walking around the kitchen area.

Sunday, June 14th was a mellow day, we had the AT&T guy at our house trying to fix our internet & cable (which had been down since Saturday morning) unfortunately they weren't able to complete the process so they had to schedule another appointment for the following day, so Jammer was frantically trying to figure out how he was going to watch the Laker game that evening, luckily our neighbor was recording it so he got to go over there and watch it. I got a picture of Tre climbing on his xylephone to reach the TV. He is getting too brave with the climbing. Just before lunchtime I needed to entertain Tre for a minute because he just wanders so quickly and I needed to get his lunch ready so I turned on this kids video of music and kids dancing on it for him and he was mesmerized!!! I was cracking up at how entertained he was so I had to film him. Two videos to capture this...one is more of him watching the video, the second is of him crawling towards the TV and then towards where I am standing when he sees me filming him.

It was a video day...here is another video from Sunday where Tre was being SUPER silly, he even did a sort of "howl at the moon" thing that was so funny...check it out...

Monday, June 15th the AT&T guy (different guy) came back to complete the work on our internet & cable. Thank goodness he completed it because I was going crazy without the internet, not so much with the TV part but was worried that my recordings weren't going to be there (luckily they were there when all was working again). After the cable guy was done Tre woke up and we hung out and played at the house and then after his afternoon nap we went to run a few errands.

Tuesday, June 16th we had a pool playdate over at our friend Carrie's community pool. The weather was beautiful (which is quite the opposite of today's weather). Such a perfect swim day! Tre went down for his nap pretty quickly once we got home. Then when he woke up we hung out around the house and played

Wednesday, June 17th Jammer had the day off so we decided to try out the "Parent Movie Morning" this morning at our movie theater across the street. The movie started at 10am and Tre actually didn't end up waking up till 10am so we took him in his pajamas and brought his food with us and figured we would see how it would go. We saw the movie "The Hangover". Tre did surprisingly well, but was definitely fidgety towards the end. He sat on Jammer's lap while he ate his lunch and then while munching on a cracker he would watch the movie a bit and then sort of play with whatever he was holding on to. I'm not sure I could do it by myself but with Jammer's help we accomplished it pretty well. When people would laugh in the theater, Tre was so cute, he would laugh as well. Such a parrot! It gave us a taste of what flying next week could possibly be like...not looking forward to it. With Tre's intense desire to walk he isn't a big fan of sitting still anymore, he wants to GO-GO-GO! So today's weekly picture was SUPER hard to take, so I just snapped a quick photo of him atleast sitting in the boppy before he bailed to get the camera. Just 3 more weekly pics to take and then we can go to monthly, a lot more manageable. After Tre's afternoon nap we met Allison & Cole at Aviara Park. I tried to get a pic of the boys on the slide, but of course they both wanted to look in a different direction.

Here are a few more pics...

I've been collecting plastic bags from the grocery store to recycle so I have them stashed underneath a table near the kitchen and Tre found them and decided to pull all of them out and play with them...so I decided to snap a shot....

Tre and I hanging out on the patio...

Jammer and Tre in their matching outfits...

Jammer was holding Tre and then needed to get something and asked me to hang with him and I go over to the couch and he had laid Tre in the pillows...pretty funny...

Last pic...this is Tre and Cole at the park today...they were both wearing their Lotus Baby Clothing "Ohana" Hats so I wanted to try and get a pic of them together, but they weren't having it and it was getting close to time to go...

Happy 48 Week Birthday Tre

My little cruiser is surprising me every day as he gets closer and closer to walking. He is getting braver each day with how far he can travel around the house and what he can reach. It's going so fast I can't believe my eyes.

Thursday, June 4th we had a very different scheduled day. Tre woke up at 5am and decided he was not going back to sleep so by 1:30 he had already taken both his naps for the day. There was a park play date that was scheduled for 1pm and normally we would not be able to make this time but we ended up arriving a little bit late and got to hang out for a bit at the park. Jammer had the day off so while we were at the park he was surfing and we all got home at the same time and decided to go for a walk.

Friday, June 5th was another very different scheduled day. Tre woke up at 4am and after an hour finally fell back to sleep and didn't end up waking up until 7:45am, totally late for him which threw off our day. We had plans to go over to our friends Sarah & Elizabeth's house to bring Elizabeth her birthday present since she had turned 1 and her birthday party got canceled at the park due to the bad weather. We were planning on getting there around 11am, but Tre took a super long morning nap which I did not expect because he had slept in so late. We got to their house with just enough time to hang out for a little bit before Elizabeth had to go down for her nap. Then we ran a few errands and played at home until Jammer got home from work.

I had to post this pic because it was just too cute, after Tre's really long morning nap his hair was out of control so of course I had to take a picture of it...

Saturday, June 6th, Tre and I met up with my friend Jolene to walk our dogs and then go have some lunch. We went to the new La Costa Grill right down the way from our houses. Then Tre and I came back home and I tried to get him to take a nap but of course another day where he just DID NOT WANT a nap. So we played in the house for a bit where I was practicing with Tre to learn how to sit down after he stands up since he has been having trouble getting back down once he gets up and has made nap time VERY difficult. Then went over to our friends' Will & Kate's house in our complex while they were BBQ'ing. Monet, Tyler & their son Terje was there as well so Will & Kate's son Liam, Terje and Tre all were in the back playing (and Noa joined their dog Nelly and played as well). It was my first time trusting Noa without a leash playing in an open back yard with no fences and he did amazingly well. He walked over to the neighbor's back patio but when I called him he would come running back. He was so excited to be running around in an open area like that. I was very proud of him for being such a good dog.

Sunday, June 7th we went to Grandview beach (Tre, Jammer and myself) and our friend Monet took some pictures of us. It was a crack up, since she was taking pics of us, the lifeguard on duty was a guy that used to work at Circuit City so he knew Jammer, he had asked Monet to take some pictures of him so he could have some nice pics to record his time as a lifeguard. After that we went into Encinitas to see about getting some lunch. Then came home and put Tre down for a nap. After his nap we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood and go get some frozen yogurt.

Monday, June 8th both our front and back patios had to have all items removed so they can begin the process of painting them. We are very excited about them being painted but the hard part is living with outdoor plants and other stuff, indoors. Today they ended up powerwashing the patios and then tomorrow they paint, which means we have to leave our outdoor stuff indoors 48 hours after they paint, that's a long time to live with this junk inside. It was very crowded!! Tre has a new favorite word, "YES". He says it in response to many things. First time I noticed it was when him and I were playing in the morning and he started hitting me with his sand shovel, I told him "No, don't hit me" and he would say back to me, "Yes". This went on for a couple minutes, I was amazed at his adamant "yes" response. This word has continued to be a response to things I say "No" to, among other things. Not to mention, when I am nursing and he decides to bite down, I tell him "NO" and he says, "YES". Looks like weaning might begin a little sooner than I expected. We had hoped to go to the Birch Aquarium to meet up with some of the play group but the timing didn't work out too well with Tre's nap time so we had to miss it. When Tre woke up from his afternoon nap we went down to Monet's house to look at some of the pics that she took.

Tuesday, June 9th was Tre's 11 month birthday, so I posted about this day on it's own post at http://blog.donelleandmike.com/2009/06/tre-is-11-months-old.html.The painters ended up not painting our back patio because the color they ended up painting the front patios was the wrong color. SO here we are with our outside stuff STILL INSIDE!

Wednesday, June 10th Tre woke up early so our day started off much earlier than expected. Here we are with our outside stuff STILL INSIDE another day! It's starting to get a bit frustrating, especially since we still have to have our stuff inside 48 hours AFTER they paint. Tre has been limited to a much smaller area with all this junk in the house, poor guy. He went down for a morning nap and then when he woke up we got him fed and then dressed and went to Shogun for Teppan lunch. :) After Tre's afternoon nap I took Tre for a little walk around the neighborhood to kill time while Jammer was surfing and then he came home and we drove over to his parent's beach house and went for a walk over there to Beacon's and back then home to get the little guy ready for bed.

Taking the weekly picture has become a bit more difficult now that Tre is SO mobile. He immediately wants to move to where I am with the camera...and then Noa wonders why I moved his bed (which he has decided that the boppy is his place to chill when we are in the play area).

Here is a pic of Tre and Jammer at Shogun (Tre was too busy watching the guy make our food to look at the camera, he was mesmerized by it):

Here is a family pic of us while we were hanging out at Beacon's:

Tre is 11 Months Old

One more month and my little man will be the big 1 YEAR OLD!!!! Excuse the naked pic, but he was just too cute sitting there with that adorable little tush getting ready to take a bath! Today's activities were pretty boring so I don't have the most exciting post for his 11 month birthday. We hung out at the house for the first half and after Tre's afternoon nap we went to Henry's to pick up some things and then came back to the house and went for a walk around the neighborhood.

He is growing so fast, it amazes me every day. Especially from the beginning point of trying to walk to now and how each day he gets closer to walking. He is all about the word "Yes" right now, responding to me by saying Yes to everything. I guess that's better than "No" however, his saying Yes is usually after I tell him not to do something, so it's not so great, but funny (I just have to try very hard to not laugh out loud).

One of the things I got at Henry's was a cracker type food for Tre to munch on. So I thought I would video him eating a cracker, holding it in his hand and just being a big boy. Figured I might as well provide a video for the special day.

Happy 47 Week Birthday Tre

My little boy is finally crawling on his knees much more than just occasionally. Not so much of the "surfer crawl". It is so cute, however he likes to use his knees to help himself get up and stand, anything he can grab onto so he can stand up is what he'll grab. He has gotten another tooth (this one is on the bottom right side) which would make the count at 13 and I have a hunch he is getting another one on the other side as well. This past week has been on the mellow side, we have done a lot of playing in Tre's play area or his room. Since Tre is practicing his walking skills using the couch and whatever else he can grab on to we've been doing a lot of hanging around the house, which at times Tre isn't super stoked on since he really enjoys getting out, but with the weather being so weird lately it hasn't been great for much outdoor activity.

Thursday, May 28th we went to Costco. On the way home Tre was being so cute that at a stop light I took this picture of him smiling at me from the mirror. After his afternoon nap we went for a walk at Tamarack Beach.

Friday, May 29th has escaped my memory as to what we did for the most part. It probably consisted of running errands and going for a walk around the neighborhood. Tre is a fan of eating watermelon off the rind, he likes it in pieces but more so the way this picture shows him. He loves the juice and then after he sucks the juice off he takes huge bites of it. It's so cute! Last thing for today was after Tre's lunch he was eating a few little finger foods while I was getting his food bowls cleaned up and stuff and played one of our videos for Tre and he was so intrigued by the videos that he started staring at the computer screen watching him and his Dada walking on the beach and stuff. So I thought I'd film him watching a video and his reaction.

Saturday, May 30th was a dreadful day for the most part. Yucky weather didn't allow us to get out of the house so the only outdoors we did that day was walk across the street to my neighbor's garage sale and bought a new chair mat for the office so the rolling chairs don't have to roll across the carpet, got it for $2 and delivered to my office directly. Great Buy! It started to drizzle on our way back to the house so Tre and I just hung out in the house for the rest of the day which made the day seem VERY LONG! Tre was a bit of a fusser and I could tell just wanted to do something more than just play in his play area all day. Something that did entertain him was when Jammer left for work Noa barked as Jammer walked out the door so I yelled to Noa to stop barking, then Noa came over to me and I told him "No Barking Noa" and Tre started cracking up, so here is me saying "No Barking" while Tre cracks up. This little laugh is so funny!

Just before it was time to get Tre ready for bed I sat him down in his room so I could get some of his clothes from the dryer and put them away and he went up to his mirror and started giving himself kisses. I grabbed the camera and captured a bit of it. Pretty funny!

Sunday, May 31st was another day of hanging out. We hung out at the house, went for a walk to the library and then my sister came down for a visit. My friend Allison and her son Cole came over so Ashley could cut Allison's hair, so while Ashley cut Allison's hair, I played with Cole & Tre. Before everyone arrived at the house Tre was practicing his walking around the couch and was cracking me up so I took a video of him.

Monday, June 1st I had planned to have another friend over to have her hair cut so after Tre's morning nap we got the house cleaned up and Tina and her son Gibson came over for a hair cut play date. After the hair cut play date I tried to put Tre down for a nap but he wasn't having it so Ashley and I entertained Tre until Jammer got home and then we went for a ride to the bank and back to the house for night time routine.

Tuesday, June 2nd Tre and I had planned to go to the Quail Botanical Gardens with some of the moms and kids from our play group. Jammer had the day off so while we went to the gardens he went surfing so it worked out perfect. When we got home from the gardens Tre took a little nap and then we hung out and played with Tre for a bit and then went to go pick up Jammer's shirts from the dry cleaners and came back home. The picture representing this day is funny, Tre has been so obsessed with his ability to use his knees to crawl and prop himself up and stuff that I have caught him actually sleeping on his knees and had to take a picture of it.

Wednesday, June 3rd another not so exciting day in the activities department. Just Tre and I hanging out. We went to Michael's to pick up a few things, trying to get prepared for his 1st birthday (WOW). I was thinking when I was taking Tre's weekly picture with the boppy that his 12 months of life is almost upon us (Tre will be 11 months on Tuesday, June 9th). So his weekly pic update is almost at an end, I'll probably go to monthly pics after he turns 1 as each week isn't as much growth as it was during the first year. What a trip to think he is going to be a year old! Tre loves his beach ball and was being so cute while playing with it so I had to video. I can't get enough of his giggle.

This picture cracked me up because Tre looks like he is in jail (let's hope these are the only bars I ever have to see him behind). We have a gate on his bedroom door so that the animals don't go in there and we can keep the door open so it doesn't get stuffy in there. It also has worked pretty well in keeping Tre in his room but so I can still see him when I need to go get something.
