Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween was so much more fun this year with a little one to dress up and take to the pumpkin patches and all that fun stuff to do in the month of October! For dressing up, we chose to all dress up as something together as a family. Since Jammer and I were only going to be wearing our costumes for a few hours we decided that this year we would use something we had already and then find Tre something to go with that. So, we chose our King & Queen costumes from a few years back. I found a prince costume on Amazon and I had $10 of credit on that site so it worked out perfectly! What an adorable little prince our Tre made.

Halloween was celebrated on a few different days this year. It started with taking Tre to Legoland on Saturday, October 24th for their Brick or Treat event. We purchased our tickets online and we get to use them one more time before December 25th so it was like buy one get one free. YAY! Since Legoland is super close to us I figured it'd definitely be worth it.

Then on Sunday, October 25th Jammer's Mom and I took Tre to Del Mar for their trick or treat event. The businesses were giving out candy. We cruised around Del Mar, which is really cute and then went down to visit Jammer at his work since we were pretty close and Jammer's Mom hadn't seen the store he is working at currently.

Friday, October 30th was our play group's costume party at Stagecoach Park. We were super late to this because Tre ended up taking a 3 hour nap!! The event started at 1:30pm and I knew we would at least be 30 minutes late, but didn't expect to be an hour and a half late. Luckily some of the Moms and their kids were still there and a good amount hung out for quite a while. Jammer came with us to this and he dressed up with Tre. It was SO cute!!

Then for Saturday, October 31st, HALLOWEEN! My friend Edith had planned a "pumpkin fair" event so when Tre woke up from his nap (another long one - 2 hours and 40 mins) we got ready and went over there. For Halloween we all dressed up in our costumes. A Royal Family! Hehe. After hanging out at Edith's Halloween party for a few hours we were going to meet some friends in Encinitas but their plans changed so we decided to head home and get Tre to bed at a decent time. He went to bed pretty late the night before and figured to do it again would make for a more difficult day following. Tre was pretty tired by the time he got in his jammies for bed.

All in all I think we celebrated Halloween in as many fun ways as we could. Hopefully next year Tre won't be opinionated yet on what he wants to be so we can finally attempt at being The Rubbles for Halloween, which we really wanted to do this year, but the Bam Bam costume wasn't smaller than a 2T size and Tre doesn't fit into that size yet. We'll see how next year works out, I'm sure time will fly as it always seems to do now and we'll be back at Halloween again soon! :)

Hope everyone else had lots of fun this Halloween!

Tre is 15 Months Old

Another month blown by, hope you have some time to check it all out cause this thing is LONG...
  • Thursday, September 10th we took Tre to the soccer field to practice his moves, since he has been obsessed with kicking the ball throughout the house (where there isn't much space) we decided to give him an entire field to play on. The field is awesome because it is the fake grass so it's even throughout the entire field. It's huge, especially for a toddler (even for me it's huge). He had a blast! I had to take some video of him because he was having a lot of fun. Click here to see the video.
  • Friday, September 11th Jammer had the day off so I decided to schedule myself a facial with my friend Candice. Her spa had sent me a $50 gift card for my birthday so I was more than happy to use it. Jammer, Tre and I went down to Solana Beach and had lunch at Pizza Port. While I went to get my facial, Jammer and Tre hung out around Solana Beach and basically just wandered around and checked things out. It was a great afternoon!
  • Saturday, September 12th Tre and I hung out until Jammer got off work and then when he got home we took Tre to the park for a little soccer and pushing his Mickey Mouse airplane toy around. Our friend Stu came over to hang with us in the evening and Tre was loving having him there. He would sit next to him, give him hugs and laugh with him. It was too cute!
  • Sunday, September 13th was my family's birthday BBQ for my niece Jadenn and I. My niece turned 8 on the 12th. Now that Tre is on the 1 nap schedule it makes things a little easier to do, however we arrive to things a little later than we used to since Tre's nap is more in the middle of the day now, but we can hang out without a worry of another nap. So Tre kept very busy running around my parent's house and checking everything out. Dinner was AWESOME! Jadenn's palatte has evolved so much lately, she used to be anti-seafood of any kind, but this year had requested some similar items that I normally ask for. We had a huge spread of food, garlic/butter shrimp appetizers, caesar salad, clams, tri-tip, tilapia & asparagus w/ prosciutto. YUMMY! It was a fun time and went by super quick, before we knew it, it was already time to go and we hadn't even had bday dessert. So quickly Happy Birthday was sung and we ate our dessert. I asked for Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars and Jadenn asked for Pazookie. Great choices!
  • Monday, September 14th was a pretty mellow day, Tre and I hung out in the house for most of the day. He is a book fanatic these days, which is great, but makes it very difficult to get out of the house. I can't get up and do anything without him chasing after me with a book and begging me to read it to him. But as long as he is content hanging in the house I guess it's okay, even though I get a little stir crazy sometimes. One of the books he loves lately is "Where the Wild Things Are" and there is a few pages within the book where there are no words but they are being "wild" so I made up little ditty's and one of them is about marching, so when he is standing up while I read to him he starts marching when I say the "marching ditty", so I took video of him marching around the house. Click here to check it out.
  • Tuesday, September 15th I took Tre to the Birch Aquarium, he loved the fish and called a lot of them Nemo. So funny! Two other Moms and their daughters met there from our play group. As soon as we let them out of their strollers it was funny. Tre kept trying to kiss one of the girls, Ella. She let him kiss her once on the cheek but Tre's kisses are a bit slobbery so after that one she would run away. Tre was a rambunctious little dude running around everywhere. I was a little jealous of the Mom's with their daughters that stuck near them, I was ALL over that place with Tre. Hehe. After Birch Aquarium we went to visit Jammer at his work since we were right down the street from his store. We had yet to see the store so that was cool to check it out. It's the newest store in La Jolla and it is SO nice. We had a little food and then Tre ran around the store for a bit until it was time to go home.
  • Wednesday, September 16th was a day of hanging at the house and then went to REI to get Tre's stroller tires pumped up, the air had been going out of them so it was much needed. After REI we strolled over to Best Buy in the shopping center across the street from REI. I was still without a laptop and using my SUPER slow desktop, I had been doing research online and also had the help of my friend's husband with some tips, but I thought I would see first hand some of the laptops and what they offer. Tre was bored after a bit so we strolled back to the car and went home to get dinner ready and get my wild man to bed. He has been so clingy lately when we are in the house, I haven't been able to get anything accomplished while he is awake without him right next to me. It's cute on one end but hard to even make him food without him wanting me to pay attention to him. Quite the opposite when we are out in the world, he is happy leaving me in the dust. So after my 16 days of research on computers I finally purchased one. I had a Dell made and shipped to me. It is exactly what I need and I got a great price for all that it has to offer. After looking at all the options in stores and how I would have to settle for what they have if I purchased from a store, I decided to have one made and hope that this time it won't crap out on me a year and a half after I buy it. I PRAY!
  • Thursday, September 17th Tre and I had to run a few errands, one thing we had to do was buy him a new pair of shoes, his foot has already grown 1/2 a size, he was a size 3 and now is a size 3 1/2 so his toes were going over the edge of his sandals, unfortunately they don't make 1/2 sizes so he is moving to a size 4, room to grow, but also room to trip. Hopefully it's not too difficult. Also had to buy a few more child proofing items at Babies R Us, Tre has found two plugs in his room that are very intriguing and he likes to try and pull on the plugs. There isn't anywhere else for me to put those plugs so I bought a plug cover so he can't pull on the plugged in cord. I feel much better about him being in his room now with that thing covered up. Then after errands I took Tre to the park for a little running around, kicking his soccer ball and stuff.
  • Friday, September 18th I took Tre to Aviara park after his nap. We hung out there for a bit and then went back to the house since Jammer worked the early shift that day, he got to play with Tre for a bit before Tre went to bed.
  • Saturday, September 19th Jammer had the day off so we hung out and then took Tre to the park later that day for a little soccer fun. That night my friend Selena had planned a Mom's Night Out at Carlsbad Wine Merchant where her friend who does PartyLite would present some products and hang out. I ended up getting there late because Tre was a bit of a handful to get to eat his dinner and then to bed. Luckily they were still hanging out and then Selena, our friend Sarah and myself went to Twenty/20 bar at the Sheraton hotel up the street from our house and hung out for a bit, had a little snack (since I didn't get to eat a decent dinner) and talked. It was nice to get out with some girls for a little girl talk. :)
  • Sunday, September 20th my friend Tiff had 2 free tickets to the Charger/Ravens game, so we decided to try our luck at bringing Tre to a Charger game. We were so excited to go to this game because Jammer's cousin is Todd Heap (the tight end on the Ravens), so we got to see Todd play live. It was an interesting game and Tre did pretty well for the first half but things got a little rowdy/loud in the stands and I decided to let Tre run around the bottom level checking everything out while Jammer continued to watch the game.
  • Monday, September 21st was a mellow day, play at the house and went for a walk. When we were playing at the house we were dancing to a show called Yo Gabba Gabba that Tre watches on occasion. There is a part throughout the show where there are kids that say their name and then say "they like to dance" and are rocking out. So I have gotten Tre to say "My name is Tre! I like to dance!" So I thought I would try and capture it on video, of course I was messing it up and kept saying "I love to dance!" but it didn't seem to mess Tre up. Click here to see the video.
  • Tuesday, September 22nd we went to San Elijo park to play at the spraygrounds. Jammer had the day off so he came with us to the park and got his first experience at the spraygrounds. We had fun and then when Tre seemed a little worn out from the running around we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood and picked up some ice cream from the grocery store. Click here to see Tre & Jammer playing at the spraygrounds.
  • Wednesday, September 23rd I had a hair appointment with my sister. Since I REALLY needed to get my hair done and she has been so busy working two jobs nowadays I had to go to her instead of the usual her come to me scenario. So after Tre's nap we drove up to Fullerton where she works and luckily for us her salon is 2 stories and she is on the 2nd level so we were able to block off the area where she works so Tre could run around. I had also asked my Mom to come to the salon and help out with Tre to make things easier for both Ashley and I. I had to come straight home after getting my hair done because I had a HOA board meeting that night and needed to get Tre ready for bed everything before the meeting began.
  • Thursday, September 24th I received my new laptop!! YAY! It arrived of course just before Tre woke up from his nap so I didn't get to check it out until after he went to bed that night. After lunch we went to Cottonwood park for a play group meet up and no one showed up. Kind of a bummer, but luckily I had made plans with Jammer's brother John to meet us there so once he arrived Tre had some company other than just me. It was a pretty warm day so after a little while at the park we went to get frozen yogurt down the street then dropped John back off at the park to get his motorcycle and Tre and I went home. Tre has a favorite book called "Cow Says Moo" and we read it almost every day, he is getting so good with reciting animal sounds that when I read this book to him he knows pretty much what each animal should say, check it out here.
  • Friday, September 25th Jammer ended up calling in sick because he wasn't feeling well. He toughed it out on Thursday at work but felt really drained when he came home and when he woke up on Friday morning he was feeling pretty weak. So he stayed home. It was a very busy day for me of taking care of my 2 babies. Hehe. Tre was being very clingy to me and Jammer was being very needy. Ha!
  • Saturday, September 26th was a fun busy day. Click here to read about it.
  • Sunday, September 27th we went over to my friend Selena's house so her husband could help me get all my old files off my laptop transferred over to my new laptop. It worked out well since Selena has a daughter close to the same age as Tre so they were able to play while we did some computer stuff. When we got home Jammer, Tre and I were playing a little hallway soccer, click here to see the video.
  • Monday, September 28th I took one of the CUTEST videos of Tre, we were listening to the kids station on the TV that has kids music and there was this pop-style song that he started bopping to while sitting on the couch and I figured I'd video to see what Tre would do and I am so glad that I did, he started rocking out, hard to explain so let me just post the video, you'll wanna see this so, click here to check it out.
  • Tuesday, September 29th Jammer had the day off so we of course took Tre to the soccer field since he loves it so much and Jammer enjoys playing soccer with his little man. Their new thing is saying "BOOM" when Tre kicks the ball. So I thought I would video it, check it out here. We also ran some errands looking for other ideas of balls for Tre to play with and picked up smoothies from Juice It Up. I got a smoothie that Tre could share with me so when he was in his stroller we gave him the smoothie to hold on to and when we got into Sports Authority I went to get my smoothie from him he was covered in smoothie. I thought he had spilled it but it turned out that he actually bit a hole in the bottom of the smoothie and it was seeping out, so I had to walk around Sports Authority drinking my smoothie from the bottom. I probably looked like a crazy lady!
  • Wednesday, September 30th we went over to my friend Selena's house to get the rest of my files from my old laptop, Tre played with her daughter Madi and then we came home. On the way home we stopped at the townhouses being built below our complex to check them out and then when we got home Jammer was home.
  • Thursday, October 1st we didn't have much planned so we just ran some errands and then came back to the house and played.
  • Friday, October 2nd Tre and I went to Cottonwood park for a play date meet up. When we got there I was worried it was going to be another no show day, but luckily a few other moms and their kids showed up. Crazy weather day though, it was warm one minute, cold and breezy the next and then would start to rain. It rained a few times very lightly so I figured when it rained again it would let up pretty quickly so I didn't rush to get our stuff put away, then it started DUMPING. I was soaked by the time I got back to the car (lucky for Tre I had brought his stroller to the park and he was nice and dry inside his stroller). We then went to pick up Noa from the groomers and came home.
  • Saturday, October 3rd Tre extended his morning a bit, he has been going down for his nap around 10-10:30am since he transitioned to one nap a day but as of lately he has started to seem like he might be able to stay awake a little bit longer. So today I decided to let him stay up until he started walking around drunkily. Hehe. So he went down around 11:30am and when he woke up I got him ready, fed and we went to Costco before meeting my friend Cleve (who is also my Realtor) to look at a house. I had scheduled to look at a house with him since he was going to be in San Marcos for some house showing around 2pm and there was a house that I was sort of curious to check out so we met him there at 4:30ish. We looked at the house (inside was cute, but there were a few things we weren't sure about) and then we went home. Jammer ended up getting home before Tre needed to go to bed so Tre was excited about that. Jammer also received his birthday gift in the mail, it was a Chargers Jersey that says Jammer on the back, he LOVES it.
  • Sunday, October 4th I had decided to attempt to remove Tre's morning nursing to end nursing for good. I distracted him with a smoothie when I came into his room and it worked. I was happy and thought it was all over with. Thought being the keyword on this issue. I had also planned a little surprise birthday bbq with a few of Jammer's friends. He was driving me crazy all day concerned about what we were going to do and finally I had to tell him to not worry so much so when he got home from surfing a couple of his friends were already there. It was a nice day.
  • Monday, October 5th was Jammer's birthday. Throughout the night was really rough, Tre had woken up at 2am and didn't end up officially falling back to sleep until almost 5am. I was so tired by the end of it and couldn't stand that every time I would lay Tre down in his crib he would wake back up crying SO...after attempting to bring him into our room (which was a bad idea since our room is too bright for him and too many distractions being in a new place) where he laid down for a few mins but soon was up and looking around again, so I decided to take him back into his room and ultimately I ended up getting in to his crib with him. I know you're probably thinking, WHAT? Yep, I was so disoriented with the lack of sleep and was desperate to get him to sleep. It worked, he FINALLY fell asleep!! So needless to say I was pretty exhausted when Tre woke up and he was a bear and would not let up on nursing, he would throw his smoothie and kept grabbing at me and wouldn't let me put him down on the floor without flailing to the floor. So I decided to attempt a back and forth thing. Where he nursed for a minute and then he went to drink from his smoothie. I'm hoping over a short time he'll choose the smoothie over me, possible? We'll see. Now on to Jammer's day, since we had the bbq the day before we pretty much just hung out as a family. He went surfing while Tre napped and then when Tre woke up we went and grabbed some lunch and went to the park. After Tre went to bed I made Jammer one of his favorite meals for dinner and a special bday cake with ice cream for dessert.
  • Tuesday, October 6th was the day after another long night, the back and forth nursing continues. Jammer surfed while Tre napped and then when Tre woke up from his nap we went and got some Thai food and then went to the Quail Botanical Gardens. This is Tre's 1st time being at the gardens since he has been able to walk. He had a lot of fun.
  • Wednesday, October 7th was a good day to start since Tre slept through the night, YAY! But he is still needing to nurse a little bit in the morning. I had put together a soccer playdate for our play group. Of course Tre decided to take a 3 hour nap and we were an hour or so late to the meet up which was a bummer but Tre REALLY needed that sleep so I wasn't about to wake him up for anything. Each kid that came to the meet up brought their own ball and the kids would play with their own ball or someone else's but as long as there was enough for everyone to have at least one ball. It was fun to see the kids run around, I think Tre is a bit more involved in the kicking of the balls then most kids but he'd been to the soccer field before so the other kids were interested in investigating the area. I definitely want to do this again! That evening as I was getting his dinner ready we were listening to the kids music channel and Jammer and I's song The Reason came on, Tre was dancing to it so just for the fact that it was our song I wanted to capture some footage, Tre wasn't really dancing much after the very beginning, but oh well. Click here to see it.
  • Thursday, October 8th no luck on another sleep through the night experience. Tre woke up around 12:30am and was awake for 3o minutes where I held his hand pretty much until he fell asleep. Then 30 minutes later he woke up again, this time Jammer decided to try his luck in the crib. Yep, funny thought! I took pictures just to show how adorable it was to see Tre cuddle with his daddy. However, it didn't work to get him to fall back to sleep. Jammer got quite uncomfortable pretty quickly in there (obviously not a good idea for him to get in the crib). So I went in to Tre's room and yep, hopped into his crib and around 5am I went back into our room. LOOONG night! We ended up going to the Encinitas Library for their 10am story time which was really cool and Tre had fun. At the end they let the kids play with toys for a little bit and brought out some balls, so you know Tre was ALL over the balls. I took a video of him, click here to see it. After the library we went to the park across the street for a short while and then went home to put Tre down for his nap. After nap we went to the outlet mall to look for some clothes for Tre now that it is getting colder.
  • Friday, October 9th Tre turned 15 months!!! We took Tre for a walk in the morning before his nap and before Jammer had to go to work (after his morning meeting). When Tre woke up from his nap we got ready and went out to Valley Center to this pumpkin patch that our play group had scheduled a meet up at. We were totally late for the actual meet up time but we met one of the mom's and her daughter so we had a great time roaming around and checking things out. We ended up running into another mom, her husband and son while we were there. The pumpkin patch was at the Bates Nut Farm. The place was huge and far more exciting than I had expected. It was totally worth the drive. We got some great pics as well! Wish Jammer didn't have to work so he could've been there. Last video of the month is Tre dancing to one of his favorite tunes, it's the Thomas & Friends theme song, check it out.
Tre's 14th month of life was a bit difficult at times. Tre has been a little more needy in the past few weeks and a little indecisive about what he wants to do. Most days of course are great for at least a good portion of it, but I don't think many days had gone by without a little bit of a tantrum to take place. A part of me thought he was acting like he was teething at times, but the only thing left are his 2 year molars to come in and I'll be floored if they are actually coming in. It's near impossible to check inside his mouth, unless you want to almost lose a finger (which has happened too many times to count these days). He automatically bites down if you put your finger in his mouth and he bites HARD until you squirm your finger out of his "jaws of life". OUCH! More and more words are coming out of his mouth and as much of a "must document everything" person I have been, I couldn't do it. It is too hard to write down at this point every word he says, especially since he practically repeats what he hears. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the last monthy post but he is officially a one nap a day kid. I think this has been going on since September 1st. I think August 31st was the last time he took a second nap, but he had not taken a 2nd nap before then but we were still trying to lay him down and sometimes he would lay in there for a little bit but never fall asleep. He has been pushing his one nap closer to the middle of the day so now we have a window of time in the morning to do something and then some time after his nap to do something. It's taking some getting used to, but tends to work out nicely. So this take a picture with the boppy thing is getting kind of annoying now, hehe, he does not want to sit for very long so the picture isn't that great as far as him looking at the camera but at least you can see the boppy and compare as he grows.

So for those of you that enjoy checking out the pictures from Tre's 14th month of life, here is a link...
