It's a...

Sorry to keep everyone waiting today. I know I am better at updating than this, but it was a VERY FULL day. Full of surprises and awesome family bonding! As you can see, we are having an adorable baby boy!!!

I have to admit I was shocked because I felt so different this time around. Just goes to show you that every pregnancy truly can be different and it doesn't necessarily mean you are having one versus the other. I'm not disappointed at all because I think it'll be awesome for Tre to have a little brother to pal around with. Plus the added bonus of having SO much boy stuff already, it'll lessen the amount of excess stuff we will accumulate if we were to have a girl. We plan on having more so there is still time to have a girl. Hehe.

We started off the morning with getting us all ready to head to the ultrasound appointment, arrived, met my sister Jill and her fiance Damon there as well as my sister, Ashley, Mom and Dad that came with us as well, we got situated and found out we were having a boy. What a trip!

After the ultrasound we went to breakfast. Then back to the house to put Tre down for his nap and while Tre and Jammer were napping my mom, sisters Jill & Ashley went to David's Bridal so Jill could try on wedding dresses. If I haven't mentioned it already my sister Jill is getting married in August. YAY!

It was a great day of family fun! Now we are home from Orange County and I am super tired so this is going to be a short one. I'll post ultrasound pics tomorrow. G'nite!

Mommy & Me Preschool

Tre had his first day of "preschool". It's actually a class the City of Carlsbad has that you can sign up for called Parents-Toddlers 1's (for kids who are 1-2 years old). But it gives the kids a taste of a sort of school-like class environment. They start the class with some free play as people arrive, then they have sit in a circle and sing songs time, then they have snack time, craft time and then the kids get to play in the gym with a bunch of fun toys and things plus they get to play with a huge parachute thing. Tre woke up super late that day (8:40am) so I was getting everything ready while he was sleeping and then even was in his room picking out his outfit and he didn't wake up. Finally he did which I was relieved because I didn't want to be the one to wake him up, if he is sleeping, it's usually because he needs the rest. But we got to class only 5 minutes late and I thought he would be a little put off by it because he had just woken up and there was a lot going on, but luckily he was in great spirits. He recognized a few friends from his play group so I think that helped make him feel comfortable. He wasn't big on sitting down for snack time but ate a little of the snack and then wanted to wander around and check things out. He was very curious about the place, we'll see as each class takes place if he gets used the "schedule" of it all.

It was fun to watch him interact with all the kids and all the activities. I wish I would've taken more pics of all that was going on, but I had to watch him as well so it was hard to get pics and watch him. Hehe.

He will be going to class every Thursday from 9-10am.

Here is a cute video of Tre when we were on our way to class, he was very excited:

Tre is 20 Months Old

This video was missed from the 19 Months old post, so I thought I would post it here so you can see it. It was from Saturday, February 6th. Tre got this Winnie the Pooh card for his 1st birthday but he has taken quite an interest in it and loves to hear it sing the tune. This video was from February 6th. Click here to see the video.

Another month gone by...is it really possible that in only 4 months my little boy is going to be 2??? WOW! It really shocks me to the core how quickly he is growing and now with another one on the way, our family is growing and it is so surreal sometimes. I always dreamed of the family I would once have and it is all happening and it is so awesome!!! I feel very blessed!

So, for 10 days of the month of February we spent our time in Hawaii, so the first 10 days of this post (February 9th to February 18th) are all included in the Hawaii post that if you missed it can be seen if you click here.

Friday, February 19th was the day I went to get my 2nd ultrasound so that post can be viewed here if you missed here.

Saturday, February 20th we were still adjusting to Cali time and just getting back into the swing of things at home. Jammer had to work so Tre and I hung at the house and ran a few errands.

Sunday, February 21st was the day we went up to Orange County for my Mom and nephew's birthday dinner at my parent's house. It was also the night we announced the new baby Anderson to my family. To see that post if you missed it, you can click here. That was a fun evening with family with some yummy food!

Monday, February 22nd was our friend Stuart's birthday and unfortunately Jammer had to work, but Tre and I joined our friends for a birthday celebration at this mexican restaurant in San Diego. It was a lot of fun to get together with everyone and celebrate our good friend Stu's birthday. Tre loves Stu and loves to say his name. It's so funny. He was actually so sad that we were all leaving and Stu was not going in the same direction as him that he started to cry when I put him in the car.

Tuesday, February 23rd Tre and I went to Aviara park after Tre's nap. We met some friends there, the great thing about this park is we usually run into someone we know. Tre had fun running around and playing with his friends.

Wednesday, February 24th Tre had a play date at his friend Elizabeth's house in the morning. Jammer was stoked because he had to work the late shift that day so he was able to surf in the morning while we were at the play date. Ended up working out for all of us, Jammer said he had a really good surf session, so he was a happy camper or should I say happy surfer. Hehe.

Thursday, February 25th Jammer had the day off so we hung at the house for the morning and then after nap we ran some errands. When we were at Costco we found a Teddy Ruxpin doll. It was a newer version (digital instead of cassette) but looked exactly as I remembered him and I had to have him. I wanted Tre to have one just like I did. Here is a video of Tre playing with Teddy after we gave it to him, click here to check it out.

Friday, February 26th we went to the library across the street from our house (so great to walk there) for a puppet show. Tre was a wild animal prior to the puppet show, running around the front of the library and then when we got into the room I thought I was going to have to leave because he WOULD NOT sit still. They did a few songs which sort of kept his attention, then the story they read he started to want to get up again, but as soon as the puppet show started he sat in my lap and watched the entire thing (kind of short in my opinion, would've like to see more puppet show than story time). After the puppet show he kept asking me, "Puppets? Dogs?" (the puppet show was about a dog birthday party, so all the puppets, aside from 2, were dogs). We walked home and then Tre went down for his nap, after he woke up we went to Aviara park and ran into a bunch of Moms and their kids from our play group there. Tre had a BLAST running around. My friend Sarah (who's daughter is Ella, one of Tre's good friends) was being dragged around by Tre for a good amount of time, he wanted to take her all over and she was so great to let him. I had fun playing with her daughter while Tre took Sarah so it was a fun little trade. Ella is such a good little girl and so fun to play with.

Saturday, February 27th was a super stormy day. Bummer for Jammer since it was his day off and he really wanted to surf, but it was too stormy when he went to check it. It rained super hard that day so we got out for a short bit to get some food and pick up a few things from Target but mostly hung at the house. At the house we were playing with Tre's toys and then one of his favorite things to do is try on Jammer's shoes, so Jammer helped him with his shoes and walked around the house with them, it was funny, click here to check out the video.

Sunday, February 28th, it is so amazing sometimes how one day is absolutely horrible and the next can be so beautiful. A beautiful day after a stormy day. It was my friend Kate's baby shower brunch in the morning. Jammer had to work so the hostess (my friend Monet) was very nice and let me bring Tre so I could still attend the shower, so I was grateful for that!! It was a great shower with some yummy food. Tre had fun playing with Monet's son, Terje's train set for a good amount of time, which was nice to keep him busy for a bit. In the afternoon we just hung at the house and then went to the grocery store. Jammer had to work the entire day from open to close. Before we went to the baby shower Tre was playing the "drums" in the kitchen. He has found one of our kitchen drawers to be very interesting with fun things to play with like these two beaters and a cheese grater. Looks like someone is very intrigued with the drums, click here to see Tre playing his version of the drums.

Monday, March 1st, is it possible that it is March already? Geez! Well today we hung at the house with Jammer in the morning, then Jammer went to work and when Tre woke up from his nap we went to Hidden Canyon Park for a play date. Then back to the house for evening routine.

Tuesday, March 2nd was Jammer's day off, good thing because Tre has been having a horrible time adjusting to Daddy being gone for large portions of most days. He asks for him CONSTANTLY when he isn't around. Even asking me for the phone, I'm like what do you want my phone for, he says, DADA! Jammer has recorded a couple videos for Tre to see on my phone so either he wants to see the videos or he wants to call his Daddy! Little cutie! Tre slept in, which was great! Then we took him to the San Diego Botanic Gardens in the morning for a couple hours. Back to the house for his nap and then after his nap (and waiting for Jammer to get back from surfing) we decided to go grab some food and take him to the library children's garden they have connected to their kids section of the library. Tre had a blast running around and I got some cute pics. We then ran over to Costco because I was having a huge craving for their Rotisserie Chicken Salad and HAD to have it! Then home to get the little guy to his bedtime routine. When Tre got up from his nap and Jammer got home from surfing Jammer let Tre cruise around on his surfboard on the couch. Geez, Tre really is loving the surfboards. Click here to see Tre "couch surfing". Hehe.

Wednesday, March 3rd I took Tre to the Batiquitos Lagoon for a walk with some of the moms & their kiddos from our playgroup. Jammer was stoked because he worked the late shift so he got a little surf in while we were at the lagoon(which in his words ended up being an AWESOME surf session, so that's good for him). After Tre's nap which took forever to begin (he didn't end up falling asleep until 12:30pm and Jammer put him down around 11:30ish). I had to go in and put all his stuff back in his crib from him throwing it out and soothing him back to sleep (yes by climbing into the crib and getting him to lay with me, geez, not going to be able to do that pretty soon with this belly of mine growing). After nap we went to Stagecoach park to meet up with our friends Allison & Cole (and their new addition, Baby Sister Gianna). They had moved away which we were so sad about because Tre and Cole hung out a lot but they just recently moved back and we are so happy to have them back. The boys were funny, they looked at each other, looked like they recognized each other and then started running around sort of in similar directions (straight for puddles for some of the time). It was great to see them and meet Allison's adorable little baby girl.

Thursday, March 4th, yay another day off for Jammer! We hung at the house in the morning and then Tre went down for a nap while Jammer surfed. Tre took a 3 hour nap, WOW! So we were a little frantic to get out the door for my doctor's appointment with ultrasound that I talked about in my 3rd Ultrasound post, here.
I also posted a blog post on this date for people to cast their vote on whether they think we are having a boy or girl. If you haven't already, stop by the blog post and cast your vote, click here. Thanks!

Friday, March 5th Tre and I went to the library across the street for their little story time and puppet show. Tre really likes the puppet show part, he doesn't really like the wait but I kept reminding him that we were waiting for the puppet show so he was MUCH better this time than last time. After the show we went to the children's garden at the library so Tre could run around for a bit. Then home for a nap. Tre's friend Ella came over around 2:15pm so I could watch her while my friend Sarah ran a quick errand. Tre and Ella had fun!

Saturday, March 6th Tre woke up with a cold. NO FUN! He was a little warm but mostly a running nose. So due to the rainy weather we stayed in the house all day. After his nap was quite an experience, he woke up from his nap screaming and it freaked me out. I felt his head and it was really hot and he was stuffy and runny at the same time. Poor little guy! He was not a happy camper.

Sunday, March 7th Jammer had the day off so we hung out at the house mostly since Tre was still sick, but we did get out to grab some lunch at Big Red Pizza down the street from our house. Mellow day.

Monday, March 8th Tre was feeling better. His nose was still a tiny bit runny but his personality was back. I still didn't want to do anything major so we just ran a few errands, dropped off Jammer's shirts at the dry cleaners, picked up some burgers via drive thru and dropping some mail off at the post office (all things done without having to take Tre out of the car, yay). When we got home we saw my neighbor Rachel and her daughter Selah outside and Tre LOVES Selah, so he had to say hi to her. He ended up playing for a bit outside, watching Selah climb a tree and stuff. Then our other neighbor Monet and her son Terje came out to say hi as well. A little neighborhood play time. We then came back to the house and ate dinner and got ready for bed.

Tuesday, March 9th Jammer had the day off. We spent the morning in the house playing with Tre's cars and trains. He cannot get enough of those lately. I can tell he really wants a track of some sort, he keeps lining up his cars and trains in a row and pushing them around. After nap we went to grab some late lunch at El Caribe across the street from our house and then hit up the grocery store while we were in the shopping center. We ended up just coming back to the house after that and playing in the front area for a bit and then up to the house. Pretty mellow 20 month birthday for Tre, but Tre has been enjoying his Daddy time, wrestling, playing with the toys, etc. They were so cute just before it was bath time Tre started to wind down and wanted to chill with his Daddy on the couch, so he climbed up on the couch and just propped himself in the crook of Jammer's arm and watched some TV. It was too cute, I almost didn't want to disturb them with the announcement of bath time, but eventually it was time.

Here is a collection of pictures from Tre's 19th month of life....

Boy or Girl?

So we have scheduled our gender determination ultrasound for 2 weeks from this coming Sunday, March 21st and I think it is interesting to gather a poll of what people think, so here is a poll for everyone that is interested in voting to submit their guess, then after we find out we will post the news!

I'd especially love it for people to comment within the post as well whether they vote boy or girl in addition to submitting your vote via the poll.

Let the voting begin....

3rd Ultrasound

We had our 3rd Ultrasound this afternoon. We are at 13 weeks. This appointment is for the Nuchal Translucency screening of the baby. For more info on what that is you can click the link associated with the test name. But basically it helps our doctor assess the baby's risk of having Down syndrome (DS) and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems.

Tre woke up super early today so we thought we'd have no problem getting to the doctor on time, however, I assume due to the early rise of our little toddler, he decided to take a 3 hour nap. I was packing the bags and getting things organized and started to impatiently await his wake. I HATE with a passion to wake him up when he is sleeping, I've always believed that if he is sleeping most likely it is because he needs the rest and he will wake up when he is ready. More strongly believe that now with the 1 nap than I did and could sometimes with the multiple naps, but even then it bothered me to wake him up without him waking on his own. Luckily he began to stir at 2:30pm so we got the rest of our stuff ready and after a few minutes of him laying in his crib I walked in to greet him and then Jammer came in to help speed along the process since most often when Tre sees his Daddy he jumps up and immediately wants out of his crib. We got him dressed super fast and out the door.

I was worried the whole drive down that we were going to be late. We made it with 2 minutes to spare. OR so I thought, apparently Verizon Wireless time was different than their clock. They said it was exactly 3:15pm and were quickly rushing me in to the back to start the ultrasound, however I was dragging my feet a bit because Jammer had dropped Tre and I off downstairs and went to go park the car. I figured like most all appointments we would be sitting in the waiting room for at least 10 minutes before they would be ready to see us. NOPE, not this time, this sonographer was waiting for me to get there and was RUSHING me to the back to start the ultrasound. Apparently she had somewhere she wanted to be because it was by far the WORST ultrasound experience I have had. I told them I was waiting for my husband to come up and they were like, oh we'll show him in when he gets here, but I was like, um...hello, he wants to be there for the WHOLE ultrasound. Poor guy took off work today to be there to see the baby on the screen and that didn't seem to matter one bit to this girl. I tried to walk slowly and then had to get Tre into a position that I could somewhat see him, since Jammer wasn't there yet. The girl didn't seem to care about anything but getting this job over with and us out the door. Thankfully Tre was really good while it was just him and me in there. Poor Jammer only got to see like 1/2 a minute's worth of baby. He looked so upset and I was SUPER bothered. As I was trying to push Tre's stroller back against a wall so he could face me, she was already telling me to get on the table and sit down. I was like...um, I'm trying to get my son situated and text my husband so he knows where I am and what to do (figured he needed a heads up so he could RUN as fast as he can to get there once he parked).

The most annoying part was when he finally got there, she said, "oh perfect timing, I just finished." I was thinking, WHAT? How is that perfect timing? She did at least put the mechanism back on my tummy to show him a little bit of the baby, but Tre started to fuss a bit and she immediately stopped and was like, well, that's your baby. You guys are all set, here is some pictures, bye bye and rushed us out the door. Poor Jammer, I felt horrible for him. Then we had to wait over 30 minutes to see my doctor to tell us that everything looks great.

Needless to say it was not the great experience we had the last time, I'm wondering if there is a way that I can request to NOT have that sonographer ever again. She really ruined the excitement of it all. I could tell Jammer was super bothered the rest of the appointment and I couldn't blame him. Plus Tre was OVER it after 15 minutes of waiting in the waiting room. Jammer was like, we would've been better off doing something else, Tre and I. I agreed, but how were we supposed to know that would happen? I mentioned something to my doctor's nurse since she asked if it was fun during the ultrasound and I explained to her in fact it was not and the sonographer was rather rude to not wait the 3 minutes for my husband to come join me. She was surprised and apologized, but of course what can be done at that point?

At least we have an appointment to find out the gender of our baby on March 21st so we'll be able to spend quality time as a family and watch our baby on the screen as well as find out what we are having. Can't Wait!!

Here are the rest of today's ultrasound pics...
