Tuesday January 31

Koa and Tre woke up around the same time which meant I was taking Tre to school. I gathered his lunch into his backpack and then put the snack into a separate bag and we got ready to go to school. Tre was being weird about me taking him to school and kept saying that he wanted Daddy to take him but once we got to school he was fine and excited to be there. I think him being Unique of the Week this time around will be fun for him rather than him dreading it like he did at the beginning of the school year.

I came back home and got ready to take Koa to the library for Book Babies but then found out when we got there it was at the other library in Carlsbad, not our local library. Whoops! My friend had brought her daughter so we ended up just hanging out for a bit while Koa and her daughter (9 months old) wandered around. We played in the garden for a few and then left. We had a couple errands to run and then went back home to have some lunch. Then it was time to pick Tre up from school. He played a little bit afterwards with his friends and then he was ready to go home.

We got home and got the boys down for nap. I had to get cleaned up and do some work on the computer because part of my evening was going to be taken up with a board meeting. Once the boys woke up I worked on the computer while Jammer took them for a little walk down the street and back. Then I made dinner, we ate and then I got ready for my board meeting. It was supposed to be our annual meeting but the association didn't get enough proxies to have a quorum so we just planned to have our regular meeting and the annual would be rescheduled for the following month. It is truly one of the hardest things to get a quorum for our annual meeting, every year we get less and less proxies.

So it was time for me to go to my meeting and as expected the annual had to be rescheduled for the following month. We ended up holding our regular meeting because we had some things to decide on since we didn't have an official meeting in December. Our association got a new property manager since our old one retired and I am very happy so far working with her. She is young, efficient and very nice. I think 2012 will be a much better year as far as the functionality of our association and getting things done with her. The meeting ended up being 2 hours long and when I got home the boys were all ready for bed and I put Koa down, however they were a little hyper with me coming home and it was hard to get them to calm down enough to get them both down, eventually they were both asleep, but for Koa it was after 10pm. Seriously, how does this kid stay awake so late every night? Exhausted as I was after the long day I had lots of work to do on the computer so I did as much as I could before I crashed.

Monday January 30

We had plans to meet up with my friend Lawrence and his wife for lunch. We met him in Del Mar and had lunch at Rubio's. The boys were very good while we were there and we made it through without too much difficulty. After our lunch we went home. Koa was very tired and fell asleep on the way home. Thankfully I was able to transfer him to his bed for him to take a much needed 3 hour nap. Tre took a little longer to go down but took a good nap as well. Our boys haven't been sleeping very well at night, going to bed late and waking up early.

After nap Tre wanted to go for a scooter ride and just as we went out the garage the ice cream man cruised by our house and Tre was all about getting something. He chose a Spongebob popsicle and I got a yummy strawberry ice cream sandwich. While the boys went for a cruise around the neighborhood I got dinner started since it was going to take an hour to cook. When they boys came back I was putting together the side dish and salad as well as preparing some muffins for Tre's class the next day since it was his week to be Unique of the Week (which also includes me bringing snack for Tues and Thurs).

Sadly, either I was in a funk or there is something wrong with our oven because dinner AND the muffins got overcooked! The chicken was more like crunchy chicken nuggets and the muffins were exploded blueberries and brick-like. I was super upset because that was a big part of Tre's snack for the next day, which meant I had to go to the store after the boys went to bed. I was already overwhelmed with everything that I have going on and on top of it all I had to go to the store and think up a new idea for snack. Such a bummer!

We gave Koa a bath since Tre ended up showering before we went to lunch and then put the boys to bed. Koa of course took longer than normal which seems to be the normal these days. This time I set him in his crib after rocking him for about 5 minutes(which upset him) and then I rubbed his back until he was more mellow. But he wouldn't lay down so I picked him back up and rocked him some more. Then laid him back down and again he was upset but he laid down and just cried. So I soothed him a bit by rubbing his head/forehead. He finally started to calm down and then slightly rolled towards the wall and I was able to sneak out.

After that I had to go to the store and pick up some stuff for snack. I ended up grabbing a few things for Thursday too so it worked out alright. Then I came home and got Tuesday snack prepared and wasn't feeling so great (I think stress and lack of sleep really got to me), so I got ready for bed and crashed. I was lucky enough to get almost a full night's sleep. Koa woke up for a few minutes in the middle of the night and I was about to get up but he ended up going back to sleep and then didn't wake up until 8am. YAY!

Sunday January 29

Since my sister and her family were here for one more day in Coronado we planned to meet them at Coronado Cays Park to watch my nephew's last game of the weekend. It was scheduled for 11:45am so we got ready and went down there before the game started. We watched the majority of the game and then towards the end Tre was getting restless so my niece and I took him to the playground near where the games were playing. Then we played a little soccer of our own until the game was over. While they packed up we played and then we all went to our cars and met at Which Wich for lunch in the heart of Coronado.

Koa almost fell asleep on the way to getting lunch. With him sleeping so horribly the night before and waking up super early he was exhausted. After eating we walked to our cars, gave our hugs goodbye and then drove home. Koa fell asleep pretty quickly after getting in the car. Tre talked about being tired practically the whole way home but never fell asleep. We thought for sure he was going to crash when we got home. I took Koa to his room and he woke up and wanted to be held, I was worried he wouldn't go back to sleep but luckily after snuggling him for a couple minutes he was back asleep and went down in his crib. Tre on the other hand would not sleep. Even though he jumped immediately in to his bed when we got home he did not fall asleep. Jammer left to go surfing and I tried to get Tre to go to bed but we ended up laying in his bed until 4:00 and then Tre jumped up and ran to our bedroom.

Tre and I hung out in my room. Koa woke up just under 2 1/2 hours after falling asleep. So we all hung out in my room until Jammer got home from surfing. Then it was time to figure out what we were going to eat for dinner. Jammer made dinner, we ate, got the boys bathed and ready for bed.

Saturday January 28

Since it was another beautiful day we took the boys to Grandview Beach. We drove by Ponto but it was too windy so we decided to see if the tide had gone down enough to give us a little beach space at Grandview and luckily it did so we went down the stairs and set up our little spot. Tre was immediately stoked to be on the sand and was running around very excited. Koa was happy too but stayed close until he figured out where we were hanging out, then he started running around playing ball. We hung out at the beach for a little while until it was time to get them home for nap.

We left Grandview and went home. Since the boys were so sandy Jammer showered them while I got their lunch made. I got each boy out of the shower, got them dressed and in to the dining room to eat their lunch. We all finished eating and then got the boys down for nap. Jammer thought Tre was down but Tre had other plans. Jammer went surfing and Tre decided he was not interested in napping. So Tre and I hung out in my bedroom so we didn't wake up Koa. Jammer got home and got cleaned up then shortly after that Koa woke up. He hasn't been sleeping that well at night lately so he took a little over 2 1/2 hour nap. We had planned on going down to Coronado to see my sister Jennifer and her family. They were in town for a soccer tournament.

By the time we got down there it was dark but my sis, her fam and the group they were hanging out with were at Silver Strand Beach across the street from their hotel. There was food and s'mores so we ate some food and hung out until we had to close up since the beach closed at 7pm. We went back to the hotel and hung out with them until it was time to go. Tre was having a blast playing with his cousins all the way until we had to convince him it was time to go home. However, once he got in the car he said he wanted to go home because he was very tired. Both boys fell asleep on the car ride home and I thought we were set for the night without worry of putting them to bed but I was wrong. Koa woke up when we got home and took something like 40-45 minutes to get him to go back to sleep. I had some work to do on the computer so I was up later than I would've liked after the long day I had.

Friday January 27

Yesterday was so beautiful at the beach we thought we would take both boys. Unfortunately, it was a bit too windy to enjoy it much. When we were close to the water the lifeguard told us to keep the kids away from the water (but that was where it was less windy and the sand wasn't getting us in the face) so after hanging out for a bit longer we convinced Tre that we were going to take him to a park down the street. We went to Leucadia Oaks Park where they have a little skate area so he was stoked to go watch people skateboard as well as play at the playground. After hanging out there for a bit we went home to eat lunch and then put the boys down for nap.

Koa woke up and then Tre woke up moments later so Tre and I went in to Koa's room to get him out of his crib. We got the boys dressed so Jammer could take them to the bike track while there was still light out. I had to run to the post office and then picked up some food for dinner. On my way home I stopped at the bike track and saw the boys playing. Then I gave Tre and Koa a ride home and Jammer walked the little car home. We ate dinner and then I had some work to do on the computer so Jammer and the boys played in the living room. Then I got Koa in the bath and got him ready for bed and Tre followed suit. Koa took a long time to fall asleep (I think this no nursing before bed thing is really affecting his sleep). Jammer put Tre down and then went to a friend's house for a "guy's night".

Thursday January 26

Jammer took Tre to preschool and then went surfing while Koa and I went to his preschool class. The weather was looking very nice so I decided to take Koa to the beach.  We went home and got changed, then initially went to Grandview hoping to go to that beach, however after checking it turned out the tide was way TOO high. So, much to Koa's dismay (he thought we were done and were not doing the beach) we got back in the car. We ended up going to Ponto beach. It was a very nice time at the beach and so easy with just one toddler.

The added plus that Koa doesn't really like going in the water so I didn't have to worry about touching the chilly water. It was then time for us to get ready to go because we had to go pick up Tre from school and I was pretty hungry and wanted to stop off at the grocery store. Jammer ended up not getting my text in time and he was already home wondering where we were so Koa and I went to go pick up Tre from school on our own. We played at school for a little bit and then went home. We ate lunch and then got the boys down for nap.

My friend Tiff had planned on coming over to visit for a little bit and arrived around 4ish. We talked and hung out until Tre woke up. Once Tre was awake he wanted us to play with him. Luckily, just before Tiff had to leave Koa woke up so it was nice that she got to see him before she left. I made dinner, we ate and then gave the boys their baths and got them ready for bed. Koa was being really clingy to Jammer and Tre was being really clingy to me so we decided to switch boys for the night. I put Tre to bed and Jammer put Koa to bed.

Wednesday January 25

In the morning we had breakfast and then I got ready to go to a meeting. I had a meeting with a friend of mine that I have worked on his website off and on throughout the years for an update and future redesign. Jammer stayed home with the boys while I was at my meeting. The meeting went well. After the meeting I stopped at Jersey Mike's to pick up a sandwich for lunch and then brought it home for Jammer, Koa and I to share (Tre didn't want any). Jammer and the boys hung out at home and played while I was gone. They played in the backyard, front yard and inside.

After we finished our lunch it was time to put the boys down for nap. Tre took a little under a 2 hour nap and Koa ended up sleeping for a little over 3 hours. WOW! While the boys napped I did some work on the computer and then finished up some things after they woke up. Then I made dinner and we ate. We hung out for a bit and then gave the boys baths and off to bed.

Tuesday January 24

I took Tre to preschool in the morning, stopped at the grocery store on my way home and then back home for breakfast with Jammer and Koa. I put dinner in the crock pot and then Jammer had some work to do so Koa and I hung out until he got back. We had to stop by the police station nearby to get a front license plate proof of correction signed off for me. It was a quick stop and then we went to pick Tre up from school. I was on the phone with some tech support for a client/friend's website so Jammer went in to Tre's class to pick him up while Koa and I stayed at the car so I could finish my call. After the call was over, Koa and I went over to where Tre and his friends play after school. We hung out for a bit and then it was time to head home. Koa was super tired and ready for bed since he didn't sleep very well the night before.

We got home and ate a quick lunch and then put the boys down for nap. Tre ended up taking a short nap and was bummed when I told him that his Daddy wasn't home because he wanted to play Legos with him. So Tre and I snuggled and watched some TV until Koa woke up. Jammer got home a little bit later and Tre immediately directed him towards the Legos. Since I had put dinner in the crock pot I just needed to prepare the side dish and then we were all set for dinner. We ate dinner and then gave the boys their baths and off to bed. Koa was fighting going to sleep and wanted me to hold him. Finally after the third attempt to lay him down I let him cry a little bit and within a few minutes he was down to sleep. YAY.

Monday January 23

It was a rainy day so we were confined to the indoors. Koa and I woke up like an hour and a half before Tre and Jammer did. So we hung out in the living room until they woke up. Then once they were awake Koa was excited to see them. I couldn't believe Tre slept in so late and Koa woke up so early. We had breakfast and then just hung out. Then put the boys down for nap and I got in some rest as well. After the boys woke up we just hung out and played in the living room. Pretty mellow day which was nice after the busy weekend we had.

Sunday January 22

We had another event planned for Sunday. A belated Christmas gathering with my Mom's Mom's side of the family. Luck would have it that Tre ended up sleeping in on this day so we didn't have to stress too bad about him taking a nap. Especially since we had to be at my Grandparent's house at 3:30pm. We ate breakfast, got showered and dressed. Then we packed up all our stuff and got ready to head up to Moreno Valley. The plan was for Koa to nap in the car on the way there and Tre would most likely just cruise along awake.

I was right, Tre didn't nap but I expected Koa to nap a little longer than 45 minutes. I have a feeling the sun caught his sleeping eyes and woke him up. We were almost there so we survived the drive without any crying. We arrived a couple minutes after 3:30pm, Woo-Hoo! Tre was a little reluctant to join the activities, which was some hallway hockey that my nephew and cousins were playing. After a short while of watching what they were doing Tre decided he wanted to try and from there we could hardly get him to stop. He has never really played hockey before so he was having trouble grasping all of the rules so we had have him take a few breaks to relax and regroup. Koa attempted to get in there quite a few times and play, thankfully he managed to stay unharmed. Hehe.

We ate some yummy food (tamales being my fav part since normally I only get them at Christmas time). My sister Jennifer made them and they were DELICIOUS! After food we hung out for a bit. The football game was on so that pretty much kept all the males in the house occupied. The ladies (other than me who was busy watching the boys and Ashley who is pregnant and relaxed on the couch) played Bunco. After the game was over it was time to open presents and then take a group photo.

From there we started to pack up the car and then last was getting the boys in their pajamas and getting ready to drive home. The drive home went pretty quickly so that was great and it was nice to spend time with family.

Saturday January 21

We stayed home in the morning because we had a wedding to go to in the afternoon. My Mom planned on arriving around 1pm so we could head out to El Cajon to the ceremony. We had breakfast and hung out with the boys as each of us took our turn getting showered and dressed for the wedding. Jammer went first while I tried to prepare the boys afternoon and evening food, drinks, etc. Time was going by too quickly and I was running out of time so I had to jump in the shower and get ready as fast as I could. My Mom showed up as I was finishing up getting ready so she was able to help occupy the boys. Once I was somewhat content with everything being ready for them, we left. We got to the church about 6 minutes late but luckily they weren't ready to start yet so we didn't miss anything.

The ceremony started and my friend looked beautiful! After the ceremony we hung out at the church for a bit. The reception didn't start until 5pm so we had some time to kill between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. We thought we would go check out Dave and Busters since Jammer had some cards that he thought had some money on them still. Unfortunately, either they were outdated or something but they didn't work in the system. So we left and picked up a little In and Out burger snack before heading over to the reception.

We arrived at the reception and the cocktail/hors d'oeuvres part began. We hung out for a bit until it was time to be seated in the reception area. The rest of the wedding went by pretty quickly. We ate, we talked, we danced and had a great time! It was so cute, they had these little miniature Panama hats at the table for each person so my friend that was attending the wedding as well and I put them in our hair. Quite a few other guests at the wedding did the same.

While we were dancing there was a part where we had to hold hands and go around in a circle and Jammer was holding the hands of a little girl who was being so cute and even after the circle dance was over she continued to hold his hand and dance. So cute!

The reception was coming to a close so I helped the bride by packing up some of the stuff that needed to go with her and then we got ready to go. The bride's Mom told me we could take home a centerpiece so that was awesome. They were beautiful! We got home, the boys were in bed and my Mom was hanging out in the living room. About 30 minutes after we got home my Mom left and we got ready for bed. It was a nice afternoon/evening spent doing something adult and not worrying about the boys. Thanks Mom for watching them!

Friday January 20

I had planned a play date at the park with our playgroup. Of course as usual we were about 30 minutes late. Koa woke up just after 9am so we were having trouble getting the boys motivated to get out the door. Once we got there quite a few of Tre's friends were there so he was very excited. He had lots of fun running around and playing. He was sad when everyone had to go and then it was time for us to go. But once we got home we took the boys to the bike track for a short visit. Then came back to the house and got them ready for nap. Tre fell asleep before Koa, for some reason he was reluctant to go down and it took me longer than normal. Once the boys were down I had some stuff to do on the computer and then had a chat with my Mom on the phone in preparation for her coming down the following day to watch the boys so Jammer and I could go to my friend's wedding.

Tre woke up before I could get in a nap so him and I hung out until Jammer got home. He was anxious to go back to the bike track and play some more and as soon as Jammer walked in he informed him that he wanted to go back. As that was being discussed Koa woke up so we all ended up going to the bike track again for another quick visit. Tre is getting braver and having Jammer help him cruise around the track on his own bike. Koa has become very interested and kept asking to get on Tre's bike and cruise around as well. Yikes!

It was getting dark and time to go home. I made dinner, then we ate, got the boys in the bath and then ready for bed. Again Koa took a really long time to put down for bed. He hasn't nursed before bed for 4 days and it definitely has made it a tiny bit harder to get him to bed. Part of his routine has been disturbed and hopefully he will get used to it soon.

A few sweet things Koa has said....
I sneezed and he said "Bless You" (a little mumbly but you can tell that's what he is saying).
He is learning his manners and says "Thank you" really well.
Since Koa loves to say HI to all of us when he sees us, he has been saying something in addition, it goes like this:
Koa: Hi Mama!
Me: Hi Koa, how are you?
Koa: Good!

Everytime I ask him how he is, how he is doing, etc...he will respond with "good". I love it, it is so darn cute!

Thursday January 19

Tre and Koa both had school today. Jammer dropped Tre off at school and Koa and I went to his parent and me preschool class. Koa woke up again 10 minutes before we were supposed to be there so we were late again. Luckily when we got there they had all just sat down to song time so we didn't miss much. Class went by quick, which it always seems to do. As of this class Koa is not the youngest kid in the class anymore. There is a little boy younger than him that didn't seem to be walking yet.

After class we went home and had breakfast. Then Koa and I played outside for a little bit. I decided to take Koa and Noa for a walk around the neighborhood since it was so nice out and we had to kill some time until we needed to pick up Tre from school. I took Koa to the bike track and rode him around the track (not as wild of a ride as when Daddy pushes him in his car, haha). Then we just cruised around for a bit. We got back to the house and had a little snack.

Then it was time to pick Tre up from school. Jammer went to go get him from class while Koa and I waited for them. We hung out in our regular spot and Tre and Koa played with the other kids. We then went home and got the boys ready for nap. Koa was being really fussy and I think he was confused whether he was hungry or tired (honestly, I think he wanted to nurse but realized it wasn't going to happen). I finally calmed him down and he fell asleep.

Tre woke up first and was so cute. He was anxious to find Jammer because he had promised Tre that he would take him to the bike track if he took a good nap. So Tre wanted him to take him immediately after he woke up. He came in to where I was and asked where Jammer was, I told him he was in the garage so he went in there and as he was walking away he said, "I'll be in the garage, call my name if you need me." HAHA. So funny!

So Jammer and Tre went to the bike track. Once Koa woke up I made him some food and he ate, then Jammer and Tre came home and I got some dinner ready for them. I jumped in the shower and then went to a Mom's Night Out with some friends at my friend's restaurant. It was a great night of yummy food and good company! I love Mom's Night Outs!

Wednesday January 18

Jammer had a coffee demo so it was just me and the boys for the day. We played in the backyard and made whole wheat cheddar crackers. Koa wasn't a fan of the making food part because he couldn't really do anything and was getting bored but Tre had fun. Funny thing though, after the crackers were baked and ready to eat Tre wouldn't eat them. He is so weird about the way foods look. Even though he liked the way the cracker looked when we made it he didn't like it after it was baked. Strange child. HAHA.

So we hung out until it was time to put the boys down for nap. While I was putting Koa down I had put the TV on for Tre to keep him occupied. Once Koa was down it was time to get Tre down. It ended up being quite the challenge. I think because I don't put Tre down for nap often it was like a party to have me in his room and he did not want to go to sleep. Ultimately, I told him that he had to stay in his room until his clock said 4:00.

So we laid quietly in his bed, then the garage door opened (it was Jammer coming home). Tre got a little antsy at this point but he still had 20 minutes before he could get up. So he definitely was not going to sleep now. I thought maybe if I told him that he had to stay in his bed until 4 then maybe he would fall asleep waiting but it didn't happen and at 4:00 he jumped up and left his room. No nap for Tre.

Jammer ended up taking Tre on a bike ride to the bike track so he wouldn't wake up Koa. They had a lot of fun. There were some neighbor kids hanging out there so they hung out with them, built up some of the jumps and then after cleaning up the trash at the bike track they ate popsicles provided by one of the neighbor kids. Then it was getting dark so Jammer and Tre came home. Koa and I hung out at the house for more than 30 minutes waiting for them to come home. Then it was time to make dinner and get the boys ready for bed. I ended up putting both boys down because Tre was being weird about me leaving his room so I laid with him until he fell asleep (however it didn't happen until 9pm - crazy since he didn't have a nap). Then I put Koa down which took me a little longer than expected.

Tuesday January 17

I took Tre to preschool while Jammer stayed home with Koa. I got home and we had breakfast and hung out. Then we decided to go run a quick errand before going to pick up Tre from school. Once we picked up Tre from school Tre played with his friends for a little bit afterwards and then we went home. Once we got home it was time for nap. Koa was super tired from waking up earlier. However he was conflicted by the fact that he was hungry. I ended up bringing some food in to his room to feed him and at first he was upset and didn't want anything but once I calmed him down the food looked like a good idea and he ate a little before falling asleep which took place immediately after he finished eating.

Both boys napped under 2 hours (which might not be such a bad thing considering how late they have been going to bed). When they woke up we still had daylight so Jammer tried to get them out in the backyard to play some baseball while they still could. I needed to go to the library and the grocery store so the boys and Jammer stayed home and I ran my errands. When I came home I made dinner and then got Koa in the bath. Then got the boys ready for bed.

Monday January 16

It was a rainy day so we all hung out in the house. Koa had woken up early and then just when I thought he was going back to sleep he woke up and needed some snuggling to go back to sleep, finally I got him to go back to bed and he slept until just before 10am. Once he got up we ate breakfast and then played indoors. Koa was dying to get outside. He kept pointing to the toys outside and requesting to go out. Poor kid doesn't like to be cooped up. It was then time to put the boys down for nap.

Tre took a shorter nap and Koa slept for almost 2 1/2 hours. When they woke up we decided to use a gift certificate we had so we figured getting out for a bit to eat would be good. Tre was stoked to be wearing his new Batman sweatshirt, haha. We went to dinner and as things started to get difficult with the boys we were ready to go. We came home and hung out for a bit, I gave Koa a bath and then we got the boys ready for bed.

Sunday January 15

Jammer's Mom left in the morning and then we went over to our friend's house for a bbq play date. We were a little late getting out the door because Tre woke up at 9am and it took us longer to get out. We arrived at my friend's house for a fun morning/afternoon of playtime for the kids and BBQ. My friend was so sweet, she made a homemade key lime pie that was SO yummy! The kids had fun while they played. Then a momentous thing happened, Tre said he had to poop and normally he requests a pull up for pooping (so frustrating) but we didn't have any and Tre's friend is potty trained so they didn't have any. I took Tre to the upstairs bathroom and talked to him about going on the potty. I told him we would get him a fish and that hasn't motivated him funnily enough the thing that motivated him was a promise of fruit snacks (if I had known that was the ticket I would've said that a long time ago, haha). So we had SUCCESS! We read a book while on the potty and a minute or two later he was done and so proud of himself (just to mention though, we come back home and tried the same thing but it didn't work, still a work in progress).

It was getting late and Koa was EXHAUSTED so we had to go home. Koa fell asleep in the car and I transferred him to his bed when we got home. Jammer put Tre down for nap who was fighting it at first but then fell asleep quite quickly once the lights were out. Weird thing with Koa, he woke up about an hour in to his nap and I went in to comfort him by rubbing his head, gave him his blanket and he fell back to sleep a few minutes later. YAY! I was super worried that an hour was all he was going to sleep. But he ended up sleeping for almost 2 1/2 hours.

Koa woke up and then Jammer decided to go in to Tre's room to nudge him and get him to wake up then we hung out. He went in and got in his bed and then sort of snuggled with Tre which then slightly woke him up and Tre was so smiley to see that his Dad was what he though still in his bed from when he fell asleep. When he came out of his room he saw that football was on the TV and thought that I had put it on for them and asked Jammer to come sit on the couch and watch football with him. HAHA!

We had some leftovers for dinner and then I gave Koa a bath and we put the boys to bed.

Saturday January 14

We hung out at home, had breakfast and waited for Jammer's Mom to come down. Koa was so cute, when he sneezed I said, "Bless You" and he replied, "Thank you". So sweet! When Jammer's Mom arrived the boys were very excited. They played for a bit and then we got ready to go on a hike. We went to Ridgeline Trailhead and hiked for a bit. Then we decided to take Tre to get his haircut. I was nervous but excited to get his hair cleaned up. Our appointment was at 2pm and we got there just on time. Tre was excited so I was happy that there was no reluctance when we got there, even when he was asked to pick his seat which was a car he was still smiling. He chose the red car and sat very patiently. He listened to her and let her do everything she needed to do. I was very proud of him for being such a good boy. He looked so handsome after his haircut. We picked up some food from El Caribe on our way back to the car and then went home and ate.

I put Koa down and then Jammer put Tre down. They napped. Tre woke up first and then Koa. Jammer's Mom went to the store to pick up some things for dinner while the boys slept. We then put dinner together and then ate. Played for a bit. Then got the boys ready for bed. We had planned to go to the movies since Jammer's Mom was spending the night. We attempted to get the boys down before we left but they both did not want to go to sleep. I rocked Koa two separate times to get him to go to bed and still Jammer's Mom ended up having to go in there after getting Tre to go to bed. So we went to the movies, I had bought my ticket online because I had a coupon to use and we planned on buying Jammer's ticket when we got there. However, we arrived and neither of us had our wallets. Dorks! I had left mine in my car and we ended up driving Jammer's and he left his at home. I was about ready to go to the movies by myself when Jammer found some cash in his car. YAY! We were able to buy the ticket and arrived in the theater just as it was starting. We got home around 1am and stayed up for a bit talking and then got ready for bed. I didn't fall asleep until almost 3am. YIKES!

Friday January 13

Koa woke up weirdly early considering he didn't fall asleep until close to 10pm. After about an hour and a half I finally got him to fall back to sleep. Tre had woken up super early too (5:30am) and Jammer ended up going in to his room and sleeping in his bed with him to get him to go back to sleep, Tre slept in a little bit after that. Since they had slept a little longer they weren't ready for nap when they normally are.

Jammer had a coffee demo so the boys and I hung out at home. We ate breakfast, played in the backyard and inside. Koa started to get sleepy so I put on a show for Tre to keep him occupied while I got Koa down for nap. Once Koa was asleep Tre and I went in his room after an hour of trying to get him to go to sleep Jammer came home and Tre heard the garage door open. That was it. No nap for Tre.

Tre wanted to play so at first we brought him in to our room so he wouldn't wake up Koa but he wanted to play in the backyard, of course as he was making his way to the backyard our little noise box made a little too much noise and it woke Koa up. Koa only napped for an hour and 15 minutes. On the bright side, we hoped this would mean an early night for our kiddos. So the boys played in the backyard while I figured out what we were having for dinner. I made dinner and then we ate. We watched a little TV and then I put Koa in the bath. Tre unwillingly went next in the bath but once he was in there he didn't want to get out. HAHA. The boys were down by about 9pm, not quite the early night I was hoping for, but at least it wasn't 10pm.

Thursday January 12

Jammer took Tre to preschool while Koa and I went to preschool class after a long break since Tre had his Christmas performance we had to skip the last day of preschool for Koa before Christmas break. It was a little stressful getting to class for us because Koa woke up about 10 minutes before we needed to be there. I was getting ready and helping get Tre ready so I kept looking at the monitor wondering if I was going to have to wake Koa up. Tre's last hurrah before leaving for school was what woke Koa up, but by the time I got Koa out of his room Tre and Jammer were gone so Koa was very sad that no one was home but that Tre had woke him up. Getting him ready didn't go as fast as I would've liked and we were late to class. It worked out okay though, we got there in time to join some of song time and the rest of class, then played in the gym after class for a bit.

We left and went to Costco where Koa and I enjoyed snacking on the samples as we shopped. Then we went home to drop off groceries before picking Tre up from school. I got Koa out of the car for the 20 minutes we had before going to get Tre. Jammer got home from surfing and we all went to pick up Tre. Tre was stoked because he got to play with his friends after class, a little too stoked though he could hardly contain his excitement and was a little rambunctious. It was time to head home. I guess it was one of those days where both boys having school was tiring because they both slept for almost 3 hours. After naps we just hung out at home, I made dinner, we ate, gave the boys baths and then put them to bed.

Wednesday January 11

We had breakfast and then took the boys to the bike track to hang out and play. Tre is great about riding his bike to our destination but for some reason is always reluctant to ride his bike back home. I don't know if it is that he doesn't want to go home fully or that he is just over the bike and wants to run. Either way it took quite the convincing to get him on the bike and make it almost home on it before Jammer had to ride it alongside his bike. Anyways, while at the bike track it was a crack up. Jammer cruised Koa around the track in the little car that he rides in when we go for walks and was catching air. Koa LOVED it. So of course Tre wanted a crack at it and with Tre in the car Jammer was able to catch some serious air. Tre LOVED it. I was laughing so hard watching them fly up and then boom, land on the ground and want to keep going. I took quite a bit of video of it and compiled it in to one video, click here to see it.

When we got back to the house we made some lunch for the boys before getting them down for nap. Koa was pretty tired by the time I brought him in his room, I think it took me 15 minutes for the entire process from reading books to changing his diaper to rocking him and putting him in his crib. Tre seemed to have fallen asleep pretty quickly as well. Koa woke up first and then Tre shortly after. We hung out until Jammer got home from surfing and then he played with the boys in the backyard while I made dinner.  We ate dinner and then we played until it was time to get the boys ready for bed.

Tuesday January 10

Jammer took Tre to preschool. It had been two weeks since he had been at school so he was in a sort of yes and no mood, wanting to go but then not wanting to go. However once he got there he was stoked and ready to stay. Jammer went surfing while Koa and I hung out at home and played. We ate breakfast, played in the backyard and showered. Then it was time to go pick up Tre from school. We all went to pick him up and after class Tre hoped to have some play time with friends like they had been doing for majority of the year but there wasn't anyone there so Koa and Tre ran around for a few minutes and then we got in the car to head home. Tre was bummed to not have play time with his friends but was okay once he heard that we were going to order pizza for lunch.

I ordered the pizza and then brought the boys home while Jammer then went to go pick up the pizza. We ate lunch and then got the boys ready for nap. Since Jammer surfed while Tre was at school we all ended up taking a nap. Jammer ended up taking a short nap while Koa took an almost 3 hour nap. I got to rest for a nice portion of time as well and even a little bit after Koa woke up Jammer played with the boys while I rested and then did a few things on the computer. Then I made dinner and we all ate. Since both Tre and Koa had their showers earlier (Tre before school and Koa with me while Tre was at school) they didn't need a bath so we got them in their pajamas and put them to bed.

Tre is 3 1/2 Years Old

My big boy is 3 1/2 years old! The past 6 months have flown. I am going to blink and my big boy is going to be 4. Tre has been going to preschool now for 5 months and loves it. He goes every Tuesday and Thursday and looks forward to it every time. He loves his bike and scooter and likes to go for rides around the neighborhood whenever he can. He loves playing all kinds of sports. Basketball, Baseball, Football and of course Soccer are his favs. He has gotten into sitting with Jammer on Sundays and watching a little football with him (Jammer loves that).

He still naps which is AWESOME! Usually sleeps for at least 2 hours. It occasionally pushes back his bedtime a little bit but the break in the middle of the day is worth it (especially since Koa is napping anyway, might as well have them both napping at the same time).  When he wakes up from nap, it is so funny. He often wakes up, grabs his 2 monkeys and his water if it is in his room with him and slowly strolls out of his room to find me (since Jammer is usually surfing when Tre wakes up). He is so sweet and cuddly when he wakes up, he immediately wants to jump in our bed and snuggle. Then says, "let's snuggle and watch a show". His sweet face and voice is something I can't refuse, so we watch TV for a bit. If Koa is awake before him then we are usually hanging in the living room and I miss out on the snuggles but he'll sit on the couch with me and lean on my shoulder. LOVE IT.

His vocabulary is amazing! The conversations we have are totally grown up and he is using words that are pretty big for his age. Then it cracks me up because he has a tiny bit of surfer lingo incorporated in. He talks about how one day he is going to surf with his Daddy and it is so cute to hear him get stoked about it. Mini Jammer! He loves to get out and do things which keeps us very busy! He is full of SO much energy I cannot even believe it sometimes. He is so affectionate to his friends but sometimes a little overly and thinks it is fun to hug them and take them down to fall on the floor. Not a favorite thing of most kids but he thinks it is fun.

Monday January 9

Jammer ran to the library for me to pick up a book (THANK YOU) and when he got back we had breakfast. Then we got the boys ready and went to Aviara Park for some play time. As we were getting ready to leave a couple friends and their kiddos showed up so we hung for a bit longer. Then we had to get ourselves home because Jammer had to head up to San Clemente to pick up some coffee product. Koa fell asleep in the car on the way home which worked out well so I could focus on getting Tre down for his nap and Jammer off to San Clemente.

By the time I got Tre down Koa for some strange reason was waking up. He was upset about something and couldn't calm himself down so I had to go in and rock him until he was quieter and wouldn't wake Tre. Because he fell asleep before we got home he missed lunch so he was pretty hungry when I took him to the kitchen and made him some belated lunch. He ate it up. We then hung out until Jammer got home. Then Jammer took Koa out for a walk while I prepared dinner since it needed to marinate for an hour. Then Tre woke up a little later.

Sunday January 8

We had breakfast and then got the boys ready to go play at the school playground. We got there and there was some soccer practice going on. I brought one of Tre's little toys which was a balloon rocket. With all the space it was fun to see the balloon shoot off in to the sky. So we played for a bit and Koa was starting to get fussy and tired. We packed it up and went home. Jammer ended up skating the whole way home again, I got it on video because it's funny to watch afterwards. This video wasn't as good as the other one, but still, it's fun to watch. Tre loves it!

We got home and put the boys down for nap. It was nice because it was a little earlier than we have been getting them down so even with Koa sleeping for 3 hours it was still earlier. Tre woke up first so him and I hung out in my room until Koa woke up. Jammer got home after both boys were awake. We figured out dinner a little bit later, ate and then I decided to make cookies. We ate some cookies, then Koa and I showered. After that we got the boys ready for bed.

Saturday January 7

Koa woke up super early and fought going back to sleep. Finally after nursing and an hour later a diaper change I got him to relax and fall back to sleep, but he only ended up sleeping for an hour and a half or so. At least something. Jammer made breakfast for all of us shortly after that. We then were trying to decide whether we stay home and hang out or make a run to Costco. We decided to go to Costco and just grab lunch over there afterwards. It was pretty busy but we made it through with the help of samples along the way.

After shopping we ate our lunch and then headed back home. I had hoped very much that Koa would fall asleep in the car because I was worried with his later sleep in the morning that he might not be easy to put down for nap. However, he didn't fall asleep and it took me a little longer than normal to get him to go down for nap. Luckily both boys napped and I was able to get some rest as well. Jammer went surfing.

Koa woke up first and must've had a bad dream or something because he woke up and was really upset when I went in to get him. He wouldn't stop crying which then ended up waking Tre up from his nap. Tre knocked on Koa's door and asked to come in. Poor guy was a little out of it, but had a smile on and informed me that Koa woke him up. HEHE. Whoops!

We then hung out until Jammer got home. Once he got home the boys were so excited and ran out to see him. After that I started to get things together for dinner. While dinner was being prepared Jammer made this cool structure with Tre's marble set (which ended up being the only picture I took for this day). He was so proud of it and Tre was stoked. Dinner was ready, we ate and then I was checking something on my computer and got a message pop up that my sister Jennifer was requesting to video chat with me. This was our first time using Gmail to video chat and it was fun. Both boys were in my room with me and they got to see their Aunt, Uncle and cousins. At first Tre wasn't sure about it but quickly got excited and started showing them things and talking a bunch. Koa would put in his two cents every so often and wanted to climb up to get my laptop. Bedtime was a little delayed because we were having fun chatting but it all worked out and made it a nice end to our day! Thanks Jenn for the video chat!

Friday January 6

The weather has been amazing this week and with the waves expected to be pretty big we decided to head to Grandview for a beach day. My friend Candice met us there which was a huge help as Jammer was surfing she was able to help me with the boys. We spent almost 3 hours there and Jammer surfed almost 2 1/2 hours of it. The boys had a lot of fun and Tre really enjoyed having Candice there to play with. I enjoyed having her there too because both boys were in different moods and needed different things (I am sure Jammer is very grateful she was there too so he could take advantage of the opportunity to surf the big waves). At one point I had to go back up to the car with Koa to get his blankie because he needed it for comfort. So tiring going up and down those stairs multiple times.

When it was time to go we packed up and went up to our cars. Tre went with Jammer, Koa went with me and Candice left in her car. Koa fell asleep really fast in the car and was out when I brought him home. He was still a little sandy so I tried to pull off his trunks which woke him a little bit but as soon as I handed him his blankie and snuggled him for a second he was okay. Then I laid him down and he fussed for a second requesting another blankie and then back to sleep for a 2 1/2 hour nap. Jammer put Tre down for nap who was a little reluctant but once he relaxed he fell asleep and napped for about 2 hours. We all ended up taking a bit of a nap and then once Koa woke up I gave him a bath to clean him up from the beach since he was still a little sandy. Then we went in the backyard and played for a bit until Koa came in and wanted to go see Jammer who was doing some work in his office.

Tre woke up at that point and we all hung out. I made dinner, we ate and then I realized I needed to go pick up a few things from the grocery store and wanted to pick up a book from the library but forgot they close early on Fridays, darnit! So I went to the store and picked some things up and then came home and watched a show with Tre before we put both boys to bed.

P.S. This last pic cracks me up....I have no idea where this face expression came from for Tre but he made it like 3 times while sitting with Candice.
